I signed my son up for Martial Arts classes at Superior Martial Arts in Conover, North Carolina in August 2015. I was to have $80 a month drafted from my bank account for this service. At the time my step-father had asked me to find some form of atheletic activity my 11 year old son would enjoy and he would split the fee with me. My son began classes and my step-father reimbursed me half the cost monthly. In December 2015 my step-father was diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver and had to stop working. At that time he made the last payment to me. I decided to continue with the classes for my son. It became too great of a financial burden for me and my son had lost interest in the classes so I contacted MSI in May of 2016 and cancelled the contract. They informed me that they would continue to draft the account for an additional 60 days. I explained I could not afford it and asked for a possible financial hardship waiver being that I have shut off notices from utilities and cannot afford the $160. I explained that he had not been using the membership for 30 days at that point. I ended up having to close the bank account to avaid further drafts. They have been called my cell and my phone demanding payment and additional late fees. They have emailed me. I have responded that I cannot afford to pay and will most likely be claiming bankruptcy. They have insisted that the money will be owed and the account will remain open until they are paid in full.

Shortly after I filed this report I was contacted by Member Solutions. They resolved my issue by allowing me to close the account and waived the last two months fees and late fees. The manager was very pleasant. I am satisfied with the resolutions.
