I bring in a Kenworth T680 2016 yesterday 07/2617 around 2:00 pm to the MHC Kenworth - Chattanooga 7831 Lee Highway Chattanooga, TN 37421, with a clear defect instruction as issue with the DEF level sensor that is reporting to the main frame computer that the Urea tank is empty so reason why the computer program is running a prevention to run the truck and showing all relative codes to the problem, after the tank run out of liquid the defect disappear intermittently, at the moment I check in the truck I show them all the pics of the gauges that I take at the moment of the error happened in order to simplify the troubleshooting process and speed my layover time.

First of all the person that attend the check in inform to me after a while that they have some other customers ahead of me and the Rapid Transport truck probably does not get attended until next day, so I ask for the possibility of to drive the truck to the hotel nearby and bring in back next day then, to what they respond to me no to do that do the possibility that they can  attend the truck during the night shift “24 hour services they say” I ask for a ride to the hotel, and the very convenient lied  to me  saying that they going to find someone to gif me a ride to the motel nearby,  after few hours I realize that is a protocol they just to and I walk to the hotel. Today 07/27/17 around 11:00 am I check the status of the truck and the truck never was checked.

At 3.00 pm the mechanic knocks the door of the truck and ask me to move the truck to the dock, i been checking the truck fixing procedure since that time and about 9.00 Pm the truck is moved outside of the workshop, then I ask for the truck status and they say that they could figure out the problem in it, I been calling to the company reporting the issue and they apparently are reporting some kind of test in the truck for more than 6 hour, and still inconclusive explanation of the defect, when I ask to move the truck out of the facility do extensive layover, the argue that Rapid have to paid for their incompetency of to fix the truck and on top of that they even have a proper diagnostic of the problem, I reported to the Rapid owners this terrible truck detention and the complete report will be shared with the National Kenworth dealership for what you guys are doing here, looks like gaining time in order to charge to the customers for the time of the truck in the shop without fix at all, meaning forcing the customer to pay for their incompetency and ignorance about the Cummings systems so Kenworth brand. This truck is setting here in the Chattanooga facility for more than 30 hours already and no signal of fix or proper diagnostic, but they are counting the time for to bill to the owners “Rapid Transport” for to do nothing and even show a professional explanation of their impossibility to sustain their “Cummings – Kenworth Certification” that they probably are faking in order to trick customers to be seating at the drivers lounge, preparing they paper work for billing to their layover time, with the excuse of cummings does not authorize or they have to report to cummings, if that is the case why no to deal directly with the person that knows how to fix the problems instead with fake mechanic with the only intention of to bill false hours of work to the Kenworth equipment owners.

After 8 hours they ask me for to call Rapid Transport in order to bill them for the total amount of $1555.12 showing the paper work where they replaced parts that even are related to the original issue description

The fact is they reset the main computer of the truck in order to delate the history and reset the codes probe of that is after I finally get to the truck the speed governor limit on the computer on board was changed the preset value that was setting up before, etc I reported to the workshop on duty and they appear like they even know what was doing on the main computer of the unit, the fact is the truck is equipped with a peoplenet device that is recording all the settings changes and once I get in the truck this device was resetting itself, and a little while after all the engine light coming back exactly as it was before.

07/28/17 9.45 am I report the complete issue to the MHC workshop do the truck is in detention here since last Wednesday without solution I call Rapid Transport and they are trying to avoid the payment but the fact is the only one that is losing money is me, I get hire to run miles not to be fixing other people equipment that no supposed to be on road without the proper technical condition because the real fact is that I report this problem to Rapid way before and the mechanics guys from there was recommending to shootdown the unit and start over again and keep going, but I realize that when the last time the issue coming back I was In the middle of the highway and the truck just was running a 5 miles / h putting in risk my safety and the others peoples over the road, once I report this to Rapid I was 1 mile away from the final delivery and they ask me to get there like this in order to get the load to their customers. As everybody can see every one involves in this issue is traying to solve their own interest at first and im the only one that is suffering the consequences.

 

Notice to all this type of issues just are damaging the Kenworth – Cummings reputation so in the future the Kenworth owner probably going to find other way to fix they equipment’s if we continue to having this type of bad feedback on behalf of “Credentialed as Cummings Certified” franchises or local dealers, Kenworth need to put attention of in Whom they are delegating the responsibility of to fix and cover their equipment’s guaranties if they not prefer low the truck sales income.

Thanks for reading and good look for Kenworth futures business, they really going to need it, because tech support they already probe that not have any, and they most prepare their accountants for further claims about fakes work bills, and other trucks damages, that they are generating trying to improvise tech knowledge into the Cummings systems.
