In February of 2015, Michael had placed in a Craigslist ad, a 1995 4-wheel drive chevy pickup. Myself and Michael went to the DMV to complete the transaction, where I gave him a check for $4000. The next day I discovered that the truck did not have 4-wheel drive and I called Michael to refund my money. A few days later he gave me a check for $3,700 and said he couldn't pay the remaining $300 for a few weeks.
Well the weeks turned into months and Michael claimed he still didn't have the money and couldn't even make payments on the debt. That was 5 months ago. Michael has now indicated that he has no intention of paying me and that 'I have learned a lesson'. I have ample evidence of his misrepresentation of the truck and his aknowledgement of the debt both in written form and in text messages.
He is a crook and I'm sure I'm not the first victim of his unethical behavior. If you are considering hiring him for a roofing job or any other reason, beware.
