Michele Rapaport - Orlando Weddings have taken our money for our wedding booked for the 13th August 2008 and gone out of business Orlando Florida
We live in the UK and decided to have a destination wedding in Florida. We chose Orlando Weddings to help us with our wedding package. We chose the 13th August as the day means something really special to the both of us. We paid Orlando Weddings a deposit in October 2007 to secure the booking and vendors and then decided to pay the remaining balance in March 2008. We didn't need to pay for our Wedding till July, but thought if we paid early then all the vendors would be paid and it was one less thing to worry about.......so we thought. We have recently found out that the Orlando Weddings will cease trading before our Wedding. Our file has been given to another company....but no money has been transfered with it. I have filed a complaint with the BBB (the Better Business Bureau).
I just don't know how someone can do this to people when a Wedding is supposed to be the happiest day of your life!

We are trying to get everyone together here honey. If you could contact channel 6 news in Orlando, just google channel 6 news+orlando, then go to the problem solvers link, you can call and email, they are considering our case for a story, There are lots of things you can do. I would start by contacting the director of ethics at ABC (Association of Bridal Consultants). Local news stations, different bridal consulting firms so they know not to do business with her. It must be difficult not even being in the states. We have been planning this trip with the children for years, saving our money for our dream wedding. Its just heartbreaking. You are not alone. Keep your head up and NEVER give up hope.
