Beware using microlancer to hire any freelancers for services.

The problem is the policies of microlancer and the microlancer support team.

If anything goes wrong after you hire a service provider, the provider can simply open a dispute and microlancer will do the following:

1. Lock you out from seeing any of the comments that the provider made when opening the dispute.

2. Lock you out from making any additional comments on the job page.

4. Give your money to the service provider and close the job if any work has been done at all, even if it is not what you ordered and the quality is complete rubbish.

4. Lock you out from leaving any feedback about the transaction.

5. Lock the job from any further disputes.

The above happened to me not once, but two times after hiring service providers on micrlancer.

The microlancer dispute system is completely one-sided. When a dispute is opened by the other party they will not ask you for any information or comments, they will simply take your money and give it to the provider and close the case.

The really bad part of this process is the fact that you will be locked out from leaving any feedback about the job. Microlancer support deems the job 'completed' and is happy to hand over all your cash to the service provider, but denies you from leaving any feedback about it or communicating any furrther with the other party. I guess they are trying to ensure that only positive reviews are available so that more people will order the services.

I don't know if the same thing will happen when a buyer makes a dispute, but if so then this will simply become a game of who opens a dispute first any time there is a problem. The other party will have no chance to respond and will basically just be ripped off.

I thought Microlancer looked promising and had some talented providers, but so far it seems to be a terrible place for both buyers and sellers.

Do not waste your time there, go to a reputable freelance website that has an open and fair dispute process.
