This is not the first time this has happened to me.

I run Microsoft Windows 7 SP1 and in the recent past Microsoft Windows XP SP2. Every year to two years after i've activated the operating system i get error messages that my copy of windows build # is not genuine. I click on "get this resolved online now" and i am directed to download an update. During the update downloading process, i am told that my product key has expired and i have to purchase another product key and activate it. That is B.S.! Why do i have to keep renewing a perfectily "clean" not pirated Windows Operating System. If i ignore the error message for too long i am locked out of my computer. This happens like i said at least every two years and sometimes every year. i've even gone online to seek help from technical support websites and i have tried each and every method to get rid of that error message but it will not go away.

Now every time i open notepad or the control panel or windows explorer i get that window on top of whatever i'm trying to open telling me ot "get this resolved online now" window. i click on it and it goes to a page that is no longer available. When i search the internet there is one option that i never click on...a link to support at microsoft that says that i have to give full control permissions to Network Service to get past that Registry Key. right now i can't even get administrator permissions on any of my files much less drive C. or Windows or system 32...And my network is PUBLIC and won't allow me to stay private. I am a home end user and i do not use my computer for work . I am a retired and disabled single person, 60 years old. I've been dealing with this bull for at least 6 years now. And i have gone out and bought another computer about every year or every other year. the computers that i buy already have the operating system already installed on them.

Yes, i've tried calling them and when i've talked to them they refer me to the computer manufacturer...Dell, the only computer i buy is from Dell and i have gone to dell and i get updates from them but they end up referring me back to microsoft. Microsoft tries to sell me Win 10. I don't want to buy nor upgrade to any other version of Windows. Not 10, not 8, and not anything else. Why can't i stay with what i have without all the harassment? I know i'm about to get locked out of my computer just like i know the sun is going to come up tomorrow. I wish i could go with Linux or MAC or something else but i've already learned windows and at my age i don't have the vision nor the patience nor do i want to go through all that! Why should i? I'm tired of not reporting this. I should have reported them a long time ago. i am on a limited fixed income and i cannot afford another computer. I shouldn't be forced to buy another one either.
