This company bought my auto loan from a car lot. They proceeded to add a late payment every month. I have never been late on this loan. They never sent any notices on it or contacted me in any way. I found out about this when I called to give them my insurance information and the rep stated I owed late charges. I think I finally got these removed after called evey week for 3 motnhs. This month they did not send my check to my bank. It was posted as a money order. After calling for 3 weeks on this, they finally called to say the payment was late!

First they said it was returned for insufficient funds. Then they said I gave them an incorrect routing number. Now they say that the post office ripped the envelope and the check and ripped part of the routing number off! It took them 3 weeks to figure this out. Now they've charrged me for giving them an incorrect routing number on an electronic check. It was a regular check by mail. This company has been adding charges to my account from about 2 weeks after they got the loan. I've filed a complant with the better business bureau for Florida on them.

Excess Interest Added By Mid AtlanticFinance

The latest on this fiasco is that the BBB got this company to take the late charges for payments that were'nt late off, but the company had added extremely high interest to the paymednts they posted late. After all was said and done, They managed to add over $400 one time and slightly over $300 a second time in extra interest. This was for payments they had, but hadn't posted to the account. Even with notices from my bank showing they had cashed the payment before the due date, the interest remained on the account. I've since refianced this loan to get it away from this company. Now I find that the pay off amount includes the interest I would have paid for the next year on this loan. They charged this interest even though the principle was paid off last month! It amounts to a few thousand dollars. I think I'm going to file a claim in small claims court to get this amount back. I think this company has gotten enough funds over the original amount owed from me.

Charge changed to another late charge now.

The latest on the company is that they've now changed the charge to a late charge for the payment posted incorrectly for October. Payment due 10/14/06 was sent 10/03/06, posted as money order 10/09/06, payment removed from account 10/29/06 and late charge added for late payment. They called me 10/31/06 to notify me it had been 30 days since they received payment. I was at work. I returned the call 11/01/06 and made a payment, minus the late charge, which is still on the account. They bought my loan sometime in 6/2006. Payment was already made to the car lot on 6/14/06. Made payments 7/07/06, 8/07/06, 9/08/06, 10/03/06. Was charged late charge on 6/29/06, 7/29/06, 8/29/06, and 10/29/06. Payments are due on the 14th of each month. I think I finally got the first 3 late charges reversed. On 11/03/06, I filed a report with the BBB requesting proof that all incorrect charges had been removed from the account and the report to the credit bureau's be corrected to show timely payments. BBB sent request to Mid Atlantic. Waiting for response now. Also calling every 4 days to get latest charge corrected.
