My 2003 GALANT is deteriorating by the day! Clear coat crystalized on almost 100% of the surfaces. About 75 % of the roof is rusted and now has a small hole. BLACK PAINT first turns to small white patches that chip, peel and grow very quickly, later it rusts. The general manager of LEHMAN MITSUBISHI DEALERSHIP in Miami Florida doesn't acknowledge my phone calls nor letters. I have an open case with MITSUBISHI MOTORS, they will not pay 100% for the repair and paint of the car. They've offered a partial and I have to out of pocket the difference plus a rental car. Job is estimated at $3K++ and minimum 2 weeks to complete. Their excuse is car's out of warranty. This is clearly a factory defect and out of the scope of the warranty. MITSUBISHI needs to cover it 100%!!! I've reported the dealership to BBB and today written to Hiroshi Yajima President/CEO in CA. My car is not paid for yet, we are first owners and mechanically sound and they want me to expense for the body work and paint! With the small hole now on the rusted area of the car's roof my time is VERY limited and I need help fast. If anybody has had success in getting their cars body worked and painted please let me know. We are also interested in any class action lawsuit that might be in the works. SHAME ON YOU MITSUBISH & LEHMAN MITSUBISHI DEALERSHIP for not backing your product line! This is a NATIONWIDE problem affecting hundreds if not thousands of Mitsubishi owners that must be fixed for FREE!!!!

They are offering to fix the paint at a cost to you. You pay a portion because the vehicle is what, 5 or 6 years old? The only paint warranty on Mitsubishi's is rust and that's not rust at all. I would be happy they are paying for some of it. Be thankful that they are offering to help you out. If it is such a loss, get rid of the car.
