Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
Almost two years ago, my band performed at a showcase by Sonbird. We had to pay $50 per song to play. We gave it a shot. After the show we were contacted by Songbird and told MMT music was interested in us. Again we had to pay Songbird for the contact. We contacted MMT and were told by Bruce Goodwin that a man named Larry Buttler ( a well known producer,???? ) wanted to produce an album for us. We then traveled 7 hours by car to MMT Music. That was the first mistake. The MMT office was a small store front in a one horse town. We met with Larry Buttler. He proceded to get us all pumped up about the album. The next step was that Larry Left the room and let Bruce talk w/us about cost.

Bruce told us that the cost would be $40,000 (no typing error). Then Bruce said we would have to pay MMT Music 15% on everything we produced (sales of merch/gigs/so on). At that time he asked if we were ready to sign. First, i told Bruce i need all the paperwork to be looked at by a lawyer. Bruce Goodwin went crazy, he jumped out of his chair and started raising his voice stating if we did not trust him, he did not want to do business w/us. Since that day we have had contacts w/major record labels who have told us "thank GOD you walked away from that crook".

Not one person in the business we have met have ever heard of B.Goodwin. I am writing this complaint now because we stil get calls from people who have worked for him in the past and are trying to con us into other fake deals. As i was told by a vice president at Polygram "always ask for references and prior clients. ***Be carefull********

Tom: Most of the people like you trying to get noticed by the major industry people never have the oppurtunity your group had. I arranged for your group to meet with a music executive that most singers and groups spend years trying to get to. It was explained to you what kind of investment your group would be needing before we ever arranged a meeting. Your group chose to come to the meeting knowing the conditions. As far as your complaint of driving and investing your time I will reply to you this way. I can appreciate how valuble your time as well as my time is. However I arranged for your group to meet with a music executive with over 100 gold and platinum albums to his credit and two Grammy awards as well as several BMI and song awards etc. As far as time spent I am pretty sure his time is more valuable than mine and yours put together as he was President of United Artists not a Vice President as you mentioned you talked to. I am very proud of the fact that my reputation and credibility in the music industry enables me to arrange meetings that give singers and bands talented like yours an oppurtunity to meet music executives of his cradentials. I am sorry that you feel that the meeting was a waste of your time. I also know they are lots of talented singers and bands that appreciate what I do to help them, and I will continue to do so. Here's hoping your group finds success. My Best:
