I signed up for 2 lines with who I thought was AT&T. It turns out it was Mobile Tech, inc., and "authorized" dealer for AT&T wireless. It took 2 days for one of the lines to work. I understand that there are technical difficulties.

However, I purchased 2 phones, nicer than the ones that came free for signing up. I paid for them and was told that they were sold out and had to return to pick them up later that afternoon. After more than 8 trips to their location in the stonewood mall, i still have these cheap phones.

I tried talking to several AT&T customer services reps but one just laughed and said I did not even have an account set up. AT&T also said they could not help me and that I had to take it up with Mobile Tech, inc.

Mobile Tech, inc. kept giving me the run arounds. I finally got so pissed off that I asked for my money back. I did not want the phones if it was going to be that much of a hassle.

Well, they said it would take 2-3 weeks to get my money back for phones that I never even recieved. Although I like the service that AT&T provides, I am second guessing their judgement if they allow people like Mobile Tech, inc. to represent them. Especially since AT&T is not able to help anyone that is ripped off by their "authorized" dealers.

I was offered a plan for $49.98 that was to include 2 mobile #s free mobile to mobile, free nights and weekends free long distance, and 1000 anytime shareable minutes. After they made me wait 5 days for phones that I paid for, i was only looking forward to not dealing with this company anymore. Unfortuanly, one of the mobile #s was transfered from my husbands name to mine and they don't have proper back up for the transfer. They have called threating that AT&T will charge us for the phones plus cancell us if my husband does not give them a copy of his ID and either a SSN or credit card. How could they charge me since the account is under my name for something that my husband will not provide???!!!??? worst is that I spent an hour on the phone with a real AT&T customer service rep and she said that she new nothing about it and was confused as to why Mobile tech would call and identify themselves as AT&T, and that they would cancel and charge me for the phones. What kind of business is Mobile Tech, inc. running??? Athough AT&T has good service, it is beyond me why they would authorize some one like Mobile Tech to do service on their behalf. Any help from anyone that has been through this will be appreciated.
