I am disgusted with the "work ethic" of the billing Dept. at Mollen Immunization Clinics in AZ. As I pay into Medicare and Blue Cross, I am eligible for "no cost to me" flu and pneumonia shots each year. In Sept, 2010, I received both the shots, that were administered by Mollen Immunization Clinics.
In Dec. 2010 I received a bill from Mollen for $22.00 and the explanation on their bill was that it was a "non-covered service routine" and I was supposed to pay for it myself. When I telephoned them, they finally explained to me after hours of telephone calls back and forth, that the Billing Dept. of Mollen, made an error when they billed Blue Cross and Medicare. Each immunization shot has a different code number. Since I received two shots that day, there should have been two code numbers---one for the flu shot, and one for the pneumonia shot. But, instead, some person at Mollen, used the same code number for each shot, thus, making it look like I had two flu shots. So, In Dec. 2010 when they discovered their own error, I was told on the phone by a person whose name i have, that the error would be corrected and not to worry anymore.
Then, on April 1, 2011, I get yet another bill from Mollen Immunization Clinic for the very same error---a bill for $22. because some fool did not fix or correct their own billing error regarding the duplicate code numbers, as promised. So, again, I called them on Mon. Aril 4, 2011. Someone else answered the phone whose name I have, and kept telling me the same $22. bill was for a non-covered procedure .
Finally after some time, the woman understood what I was trying to explain. She did call me back two days later, and agreed that a duplicate code number had been used in error for the pheumonia shot and that they would "correct" it. I told this different woman about my phone call to them in Dec. 2010, and that at that time, I was assured that it would be corrected! "Of course" she stated that there was "no record" of that telephone call. I asked her why it was not done back in Dec. and she had no answer for me. I asked her to stop sending me a bill and she stated that the computer "automatically" prints the bills. I told her to remove it, and she said she couldn't.
These people are a bunch of liars, and it is my belief that they are too d**n lazy to correct their mistakes because that would involve someone going back into the computer or making a telephone call to Medicare to correct their own stupid mistake. This mistake had nothing to do with me, yet, the laziest and easiest course for them to follow was to bill the patient. I am sure some senior citizens get confused and pay these bills, and then Mollen, down the line, gets paid double for thousands of procedures. Let Mollen Immunization Clinics explain themselves to the public.
I say to everyone reading this: Beware of Mollin Immunization Clinics.....and make sure you get a correct receipt for every shot you get, right there, after the person gives you your shot or shots. Save that receipt as if it was $200. in cash. Scrutinize your Medicare and/or Insurance Statements, so you do not get scammed or ripped-off because of Mollen's unacceptable tactics and/or errors that they are waaaaay to lazy to correct!
