Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I recently received a unknown phone call regarding furthering my education and being eligible to a grant I was on the phone for a few minutes. Around 30. It was a guy. You could easily tell english was not his first language. He gave me information about colleges and universities and also told me i was to qualify for a grant.

He after transferred me to a educational sponsor or representative and i was told exactly what to say in order to qualify. I was also told to not mention anything about the grant. And to say i was looking for financial aid. Then i was transferred to another sponsor or representative. I was also told what to say and what not to say... So i did as i was told.

One week after i was called again from this unknown number. And it was the same guy speaking on the other side of the line.

He told me i was eligible for a grant from the government. Then he gave me an id number. 5 character, the first 2 were letter. O-and s. then 3 numbers. 019. And he also gave me a number to call so that i was to get the money release to my name via western union.. Thats when i was told to take $289 usd with me when going to western union. (202) 436-9932 thats the number that was given to call and get the money released. Once i called a lady answered and repeated all my information. Address. Names. Phone number. And the amount i "qualified" for.

I asked about the amount they first told me to take with me when going to western union. And so this lady said i explained that already. Is a security deposit to make sure is you the legit person. Then i respond "can yoube more specific?" Then she said to hold on for 10 seconds that she was gonna place me on hold for only a few seconds. Then i was left on hold for a long time i got tired of waiting so i hung up and called again. Now the lane did not rang there was just a voice saying.

The number you are trying to reach is not available at the momment please try again later.

Thats when i started having concrete doubts so i looked it up on line and i found this and figured out i was a victim aswell.

I hope my experience help people avoid this fraudulent persons from doing their dirty transactions

I would like to add one reminder for those who might encounter the similar scam in a different form. Any money transaction related to WESTERN UNION is a SCAM! It is the most popular finanical company where scammers are using it to collect scammed money. So remember if they mention the name "Wester Union," watch out for their scam scheme.

Also, do NOT give away your bank account or social security to anyone on the phone or email. Also, do NOT verify the same information on the phone with anyone else but the personel from your own bank. Unexpected or solicited business calls regardless opportunities are NOT valid because 99 out of 100 would be scams. Let the 1% go (don't be greedy) and it will save you from a lot of trouble.
