In September of 2003 I filled out a mortgage application online. Two Days later I recieved a call from a woman named Esther who said she was from "Money Tree Mortgage out of Georgia". She said I was pre approved for a mortgage up to 100,000 and I could have it in 60 days, all I needed to do is let them take $300.00 from my bank account for processing my application.

I was a little weary at first, but $300.00 seemed like a small price to pay for $100,000 that I had 30 years to pay back. I recieved a full application by e mail, that I had to copy onto legal sized paper and send back overnight along with my txes from the past 2 years, my employment history, my social security number, my bank account information, and my check stubs for 2 months.

I was unsure of some things on the application, but I called money tree and spoke to a woman who assured me that everything was fine and took the time to explain the things to me. I felt very reassured and was confident I would get this mortgage. She reviewed my credit report with me and went over exactly what was wrong with it and what I needed to fix. But she couldn't go ahead on any of the paper work till I paid the $300 filing fee. Just like the countless others that have complained against this company, I sent the in 300 to them for a loan for a house.

I am sorry to those that lost thier $300 and hope we somehow can get it back.

But I also thank you for posting on web sites such as this to help others such as myself not make the same mistake. I can't say how much I hope they get in contact with me so I can let them know just what I think cause It's been just over a year. I had no idea of what I could do about this till today I just hope that it's not to late for me.

I did (untill today after doing this research) have every intentions on using Money Tree to try and finance my first home.
