We bought our daughter a 1994 Jeep Cherokee. Knowing it would need work we took it to Monroe in Millville to have it checked out to see what it would need. We were given a list of repairs totaling over $1200.00. We ended up finding a place to do the work at less than half of their price, but we continued to use Monroe for oil changes.

After all of the repairs were done the car was inspected and passed with no problems. About 2 months ago we took the car for an oil change and were told it had a slight oil leak. Not too worried, we decided to leave it alone since the car is old and it wasn't a major issue.

Two weeks ago the car was acting weird and the transmission was feeling a little rough so we took it to Monroe and after the technician drove it around the parking lot he told us the transmission was bad.

The mechanic (Ed's Auto of Vineland) we took the car to for the transmission, since Monroe doesn't do transmissions, checked the car thoroughly and found out that the transmission was acting funny because it was 3 quarts low due to leaks in the lines which should have been found with the service we paid for. It also was leaking oil because the filter was put on improperly and the plug was stripped. And the best part of all was that the car had no back brakes because someone had inserted a small nail inside the brake line so no fluid would get to them.

We have the brakeline as proof of this and we know it had to have been Monroe because the line was brand new and would not have passed inspection if it had no brakes.

We have had minor problems before such as paying for tire rotation and brake check and finding out the servicce we paid extra for was never done (there is a mark on one tire and it was still in the same place). I never thought that they would go so far as to actually sabotage our vehicle just to get more money.

I am sure it was done by Monroe since they were the only people working on the car after it was inspected.
