Moon Costumes After ordering from Moon Costumes they said item was backordered. I immediately canceled the order, they agreed, and I ordered elsewhere. they shipped anyway, and three weeks later only refunded $62 of $92 I paid, and only after I threatened to file a complaint. Durham North Carolina
I placed an internet order Oct 2, 08. The confirmation said the costume was backordered. I emailed within the hour and said I could get the item elsewhere, please cancel the order.
They replied they would cancel. I ordered from another company. Within 2 days they had billed my CC and shipped. I emailed this was against my wishes, I had canceled the order. They said we thought you just canceled the costume, we were shipping the 4 accessories, but then it was in stock after all so we shipped. They did ship all 5 items despite my asking them not to and them agreeing to cancel. They said "Well then, write 'refused" on the box and we will refund your money."
I returned items and waited three weeks. They would not answer phone in this time, nor would they answer email or call back after I left phone message. I finally threatened to file a complaint. They finally answered phone and said she knew I had sent email and they were working on it, the call promptly ended.
That night they refunded via Paypal $62.00. I had paid $92.00, plus it cost me another $2.35 in Paypal fees just to receive the refund in my account.
I emailed them saying it was not right to charge me shipping and fees, I had canceled days before shipping, an hour after the internet order, and they had agreed. They will not respond, they have a habit of ignoring emails and calls they don't like. I was factual and never used bad language. Exceedingly unprofessional group of people at Moon Costumes.
