Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
We started our move to Las Vegas from Beaverton, Oregon with Morton Vanlines in August of 2007. They picked up our stuff but it took them all day to do the move and then they had to come back for a second truck and they didn't have the equipment to move our car. So they drove it to Sherwood.

We then rushed to Las Vegas as we were told they would be there in 2 days. When we arrived in Las Vegas they weren't there. We called them and were told "somebody dropped the ball" and the trucks had not left Oregon yet.

We then spent the next 4 weeks calling numerous times speaking to Liz Griffin who is the owner with her husband Aaron. We finally received the first load of stuff after 5 days and numerous calls. Liz repeatly told us that they never give a date and that by law she has 21 days to deliver. The first truck only had part of our stuff, only the boxsprings of our bed, the mattress was on the 2nd truck. The suitcase that had our clothes in it, that I unloaded from the truck 3 times in Oregon. The second truck finally arrived 9 days after the first truck and still no car. The car was transported by another company, but we almost had to fly back to Oregon to get it as Liz had not paid the bill and they wouldn't transport it and Morton Vanlines had taken the money from our credit card the day before the move. So we didn't want to pay again. After numerous more calls to Liz the car was transported and arrived 4 weeks after they took it from our home in Oregon.

We fought with our credit card company and Liz Griffin stated that we were liars and that we just wanted a move for free. Our property was damaged but once we received the 2nd truck and our car was with the transport company, Liz would no longer take our calls.

We contacted the Better Business Bureau back in August and filed a complaint. They called us to say that they were releasing a press release because of so many complaints. Dana Tims a reporter from the Oregonian spoke to us on the phone about an article he was doing on Morton Vanlines.

We have contacted an attorney, who called Liz 2 times for us. We called the Washington County Sheriff and they made calls 2 times and spoke to Liz. The Sheriff's office contacted us in March 2008 to see if we had received our belongings. We reported them to the Dept of Justice for the State of Oregon, and just received a second letter from them on 5/22/08 stating that Betty of Elliott Road Mini Storage could have some of our missing belongings. We contacted Betty at 503-538-9696 and she did not have our missing paint equipment, chain saw and box of misc things.

On April 24, 2008 we received a letter from The US Dept of Transportation which is doing a criminal investigation into Morton VanLines. We forwarded all of our information which amounts to a two inch file to the Special investigator handling this case SA Ashton Koo at 206-220-7754 and e-mail [email protected]. If you have any information on Morton Vanlines please contact SA Ashton Koo so that Liz and Aaron Griffin can be held responsible for all the pain and suffering they have caused. We feel lucky that we got our belongings back and only had damage and loss of a few items.
