I bought a Tracfone deal from Wal-Mart with a prepackaged phone with supposedly a year's worth of airtime in various cards and such...

I got a very small and slick plastic cell phone or wireless phone or whatever the heck they are calling these things now. It was so small that I had trouble seeing the push buttons in order to dial a number.

I thought it was some kind of kid's toy but friends of mine assured me that it was real and meant to be used by adults even though none of their Motorola C-139 phones had lasted more than a month at the most...

Seeing how cheap and flimsy this phone was made --and slippery too, I even went to the extra expense of buying a padded case for it so that it wouldn't break if I dropped it!

Turns out I never kept it around long enough to drop it! Or to barely get it activated and use it five times!

To make matters worse, the small, cheaply made button that you press for the "Menu" option near the top of the phone refused to work and the entire keyboard began to collapse just weeks after I bought the phone! Some of the keys would stick when they weren't falling out and sometimes, it would start burning up my minutes when I hadn't even activated it!

People tell me,"What do you expect for $20?"

Well I expect my phone to last more than THREE WEEKS and I still have 60 minuites on it! And because I am a student, I have to watch every penny!

The phone was a Motorola C139 and it looked like a minature robot or space alien device from hell!

It had a lot of very nice options and built-in ringtones but that's was all that would work on the phone THE RINGTONES! I could dial out --SOMETIMES--and then the keys woudl stick.I took it back to Wal-Mart and their attitude was "It's ONLY $20."

It wouldn't do any good to complain to Trac Phone.

The way it appears now, I think that Motorola dumped a bunch of bad phones on Tracfone.

So I am expressing my displeasure by reporting this to THE RIPOFF REPORT!

AND IT WILL BE A COLD DAY IN HELL BEFORE I EVER BUY ANOTHER (CENSORED) MOTOROLA PHONE AGAIN!

I went back to Wal-Mart and told them that the Motorola phone they gave me was a disaster. The lady at the service desk cheked it out and the rest of the push buttons collapsed into the hard bodied phone case. She showed the manager on duty who apologized after I showed them the receipt proving that I had bought it there. The manager told me to take a Nokia pone instead. I did. I preferred the accessories on the Motorola but the Nokia has held up so much better. I am still using it. The responder was right. If you save your receipt and threaten to tell the news media --or RIP OFF REPORT-- you WILL be treated right. THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO MADE SUGGESTIONS ON HOW TO RESOLVE THIS PROBLEM!

I too had bought a phone from wal-mart once but it was the movida cell phone and service, and was lied to by the phone rep saying it was only .10 per minute in all actuality it was .25 cents per minute. i went back to the wal-mart, and was talking very loud and saying that i was going to call the news media, and they gave me back a full refund for the phone, the minutes, and the phone case. as long as you have your receipt they will do that. signed: richard e.
