Upon viewing a television ad for "Girls Gone Wild", I ordered two video tapes from MRA Video, by dialing a 1-800 number and giving out my credit card number. The merchandise arrived, with about $20 of postage due. I stipulated to the salesmen that I was making a "one-time-only" purchase, withh all postage, etc. to be PREPAID. Next month, more video tapes i never ordered arrived. I attempted to phone MRA Video, but could not get through to them on the phone. I submitted several e-mails to MRA, telling them to stop the unauthorized activity. The communications were all ingored. Every month I get another fraudulent charge on my credit card and as a result, I am now in a fight with the credit card company, who refuses to decline the charges, despite a registred letter I sent them. I fell like i am beind raped and nobody is prepared to help me. These guys are fraud artists plain and simple. I have read the complaints posted by others who have been stung and the history appears to be basically the same in each case. I took the step of filing a mail fraud compliant with the US Postal Service. They are looking into it now.. BUT THEY TELL ME THEY WON'T ACT TO SHUT DOWN THIS COMPANY, UNLESS THEY START RECEIVING A FLOOD OF COMPLAINTS FROM OTHERS WHO HAVE BEEN STUNG. I am really fed up and for this reason a strongly urge others to go the the Web site at www.usps.com and register your complaints now!

Child Pornography?

#2Consumer Comment

To the lady claiming she has a 16year old daughter, is she in these Videos? If so, where where you when she was flashing? You might also learn about the US Law before you start Criticizing it. Nudity of a Child is not unlawful at any age. The Pornography comes into play only if the individual is involved in a sexual act or in touching oneself in a sexual manner. There are many Nudist Magazines that show nude children as well as Art Books, none are illegal, because they do not fit the Standard definition of Obscenity. Also to the individual who claims that all Major Credit Cards will stop future Billing. This is totaly false. My Bank has informed me when I requested them to stop paying a certain account. That they only do it for one time. They said the only thing that can be done is to close the Card and get a new CC number. Or to call them each month to stop the charge, the cost would be $25.00 each time.

Not only are you being swindled, you're also watching child pornography!

This line of videos/DVD's really torques my jaws! I have a sixteen year old daughter and I am terribly offended that although the producers of this series are currently being investigated for child pornography (in amongst 22 other charges), the video outlet I rent from continues to rent and sell them, even though I have informed them that they are potentially supporting the distribution of child pornography. I'd be willing to bet that this happens all the time in the porn industry, but the monsters who make this trash are left unmonitored and uninvestigated. Someone needs to stand up and protect our children. Heed this warning and err on the side caution, if you have this series in amongst your "collection" there is a possibility that you could also be prosecuted for possession of child pornography. Last I heard, that is illegal.

The operators for the company say we're idiots

To the previous person, where does it say in the CAlif law that the company has a right to. If you get something you didn't order, send it back. But then again no one else is responding to the previous rebuttals I've been giving. I know its in the commercial and it says preview anytime and cancel anytime that should be an option and not let thousands of people play the guessing game. I'm not an attorney just giving my input. The operators for the company say we're idiots and we're not responsive enough. Thats bulls***.

I am a law student at the University of Michigan. The firm I work for just finished a case in which there was a similar situation with a book club. Although I do not believe in the practice, MRA is following the law. If you look at their website, or at the TV Commercials, you will see that the fine print. The fine print on the TV reads; "Future Title Purchase at $19.95." The announcer also says at the end of the commercial, "Plus you will be the first to view future Girls Gone Wild Titles." I think in this day, people do need to read the fine print better. They know people are out there to make a buck above anything else. So if you've already shelled out the $$ what can you do now? Well for starters, refuse everything you get from MRA. Simply write REFUSE on the package, and the Post Office will send it back to MRA. As far as the continuous billing of the Credit Card, most Credit Cards are more than willing to stop payment to a vendor. In fact, if you have one of the big four, (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover) I promise they will. Just call their toll free number.

about mra video after all complaints I read, you have the right to get your money back. I was reading that some people have complained to the credit cards and they won't give a refund. Thats b.s. I talked to my creditors and they can back me up. i haven't received any videos in the past 6 months but theres a way. I also emailed the echannel and let them know MRA is ripping everyone off. If everyone sticks together this company will go out of business

I have bought several of the "girls gone wild" videotapes, and have been very much satisfied with the service I received...however, I purchased MINE through Barnes and Noble (online), if I remember correctly... If I had a complaint at all, it would be that I wanted the GGW video shot in Panama City Beach, summer of 1999 (I know a couple of the girls in that one) and I had to purchase half a dozen different tapes to find the one I wanted... As a general rule, buy from the BIG NAME vendors...they are much less likely to be running a scheme like this, and if they are, they let you know UP FRONT, such as the music distributors do when they offer you 12 cd's for a penny, and then expect you to buy 2 more at regular prices.... Also, big name vendors are much easier to deal with should you want a refund, or warranty replacement!!!!!

I had bought a couple of Girls Gone Wild videos a few months ago and then recently I had been getting videos in the mail that I did not want. I was mad that they had started sending these videos to me without my permission and not explaining why they were being sent. I called the consumer hotline and talked with a woman who said that when you buy the videos you sign yourself up for a subscription. In this subscription you will be sent a video each month. I was completely unaware that this was what I was signing up for when I bought the videos. I told the woman my problem and she asked for some information and said that my subscription would be cancelled and I would not be sent anymore video. Although this problem was fixed easily, the company should clearly express what they are selling.
