My father was contacted by a representative from my funding resources , and was told that there are billions of dollars in grant money available. So we set up a conference call with a man named Jarred White. He explained (sort of) the ins and outs of receiving grant money. He used the term "no free lunch" during his presentation, which led me to believe there was going to be some sort of monetary commitment on my parents part.
I asked many questions and , and I understand that they are providing a service and they should be paid for it, however when i told him that my parents were not going to give him a credit card to secure the 4500 it would cost to do this, and that my parents and i were going to talk about it, the conversation took a turn for the worse.
I asked for a website to look up on the company, or other aliases , so i could check with the bbb . Mr white then proceeded to tell me that the bbb is not a good place to look up companies , so that was a clear red flag, and sure enough, a D- rating, in which he tried to defend. He kept telling me how "securing" up a credit card from my parents would ensure their own security, whatever that means.
Finally , I told mr White under no circumstances were my parents going to use their credit card without talking it over first, and i had to hang up on him. He called right back, I did not answer and he left a voice mail saying i disrespected him, and he called me ignorant, he even said that because he did not appreciate the disrespect , that to expect certain "issues" to start coming up. He muttered something about how his company has "leverage" far greater than i can imagine, (not sure what that all means) the recording ran out and he called back to leave a second vm.
I have to say, all though i did not allow this company to rip my parents off. Jarred White is one of the most unprofessional people i have ever met on any level. I did not like this guy from the second he opened his mouth. He rubbed me the wrong way right off the bat. Ive sold cars for over 15 years, I have never in all my travels met a bigger slime ball than jarred white.
