I remember this customer and his boat. In January 2013 a young man called me about a PROJECT boat that he had just acquired. He wanted me to get the engine running again but that he was VERY limited financially. When he came to drop it off, I explained to him that just by looking at his project he was going to be knee deep in it. The boat had no deck, fuel tank or batteries. The engine had come from a car and the vessels wiring was in poor condition and like a rat’s nest.
He insisted that I try to see if I could get it working using what was there. After a few hours sorting through the mess I found that the fuel injection system was working but the electric fuel pump was bad. I also found that the engine was seized, manifolds were rusty, the drive trim system didn’t work and the starter seemed to be bad among other problems. I explained to the young man that in order to get his project boat running again that he was going to sink a lot of money in it and that the vessel was not worth it. He picked up his boat, paid for my time and said he was going to try to get it running himself.
I have well over 200 customers’ names and numbers in my data base that I can use as references. You can read a few of my reviews posted on my website http://www.mymarinemechanic.net/servlet/the-template/about/Page or here at http://www.superpages.com/bp//My-Marine-Mechanic-LLC-L2239221067.htm#BPreviewContainer .
IT IS A SHAME THAT SOMEONE SO MISGUIDED CAN ATTEMT TO TRASH ANOTHERS
FLAWLESS REPUTATION AND DO IT WITH ANONIMITY.
I WISH YOU THE BEST NICK.
