Greetings,

I just got off the phone with someone, I didn't catch his name, but he called from 714-642-4693 claiming to have "bought" Google Local Business listings from mysearchseo.com. He was trying very hard to get my checking account info.

Anyway, I got screwed around by mysearchseo.com for about $700 and my cousin for $200. We disputed the charges and got it back. Apparently, My Search SEO who is run by Nick Kohlschreiber, is at another scam by the name of MYLOCALVISIBILITY.COM

So I talk to the guy who tells me he has a guaranteed bulletproof way to get me on the front page of google local business within 30 days and he has a "bulletproof" guarantee. I told him to put his money where his mouth is, get me on the front page, and I'll be more than happy to pay. Long story short, I wound up doing a whois look up on the website.

I asked him if he had any affiliation with mysearch seo. He said no. I asked two more times. Then I asked him why the contact e-mails are all @mysearchseo.com. He just stuttered a bit.

Upon further research, not only did mysearchseo.com / mylocalvisibility.com rip off all of their clients but they also closed up shop and didn't pay any of their employees, many of which were living paycheck to paycheck. They just up and closed one day in June and re-opened in July under a new name.

It's really a pity. We're out here trying to run honest businesses and these scammers come around and screw up the entire advertising market to the point that you can't trust anyone to do your advertising but YOU.

I hope this helps others not get scammed. Rule of thumb - Make telemarketing advertising companies show you results FIRST. Second, always do a whois on a business and if the registration is private or if it's a newly registered website, it's most likely a scam.

One company who is not a scam, who I am not affiliated with is xxxx.com. (((REDACTED))) Ask for Adam Garrett. He telemarketed my business a couple of years back and I've been doing business with them since. He showed me my listing on the web before even asking for my credit card number. Wxxxxk isn't cheap by any means, not as cheap as these scammers "claim" to be, but in the end, it's just one big scam.

Tell Adam, Chris from Atlantis in Dallas, TX referred you ;).

UPDATE

I just want to update the report. I received a call from Nick Kohlschreiber personally this evening. He wanted to make it right, explained that he didn't pay some of his employees who were blogging about not getting paid because of having to let them go due to unethical business practices. I can understand the situation because I've refunded money to customers in order to keep a good reputation when good employees go bad. Like I said, I charged back the credit card so if a business doesn't get paid on a sale, you can't pay the employees commission. Completely understandable.

The guy sounded genuine and professional. He offered to get the listing up for free, let me see the results then if I am happy with it, pay the fee. I am perfectly fine with that. The service well surpasses the price if it's actually done. He said he would call in the morning to get things moving and 30-45 days from now, the listing would be up and in proper placement.

I believe this is a fair resolution to the problem and I hope I can update this report in a few months with good news.
