On Oct 4, 2019 I went in to get an oil change on my 2003 Lexus ES 300. I met service adviser Thomas Slowik who advised they were busy and the wait was 1.5 hours. I told him to ensure that they use synthetic oil because in the past Nalley techs had put the wrong oil in and had to drain.

He mentioned he would as I hadn't had an oil change or service in 10,000 miles since 2018. I didn't correct him as I get serviced by LexTechs in Johns Creek. I had to go out of town for my uncle's funeral on Oct 5, 2019 so I agreed to the wait.

Once complete Thomas Slowick advised my car was ready, he showed me a repair estimate with a myriad number of issues that I needed fixed for a total of $10,740.21. I declined because my car is worth about $2,000 and most of the services recommended I have had done or made aware of  at LexTechs.

I paid, and he gave me my keys. I got in my car and it would not crank. I tried several times and told the technician that bought my car out.  He tried and remarked that it was weird. Tom Slowick, the service adviser, seem agitated and told the mechanic to move out of the way and he tried to crank.

He then points out that my battery tested low earlier and I needed to get another test for $209.63 a line item on my repair estimate or just buy another battery. I told him no and he remarked "suit yourself". I told him to just keep the car since they tore it up and I had no problems until I had service there.

He walked off and back to his office so I had to go inside and ask someone to jump my car so I could leave. They remarked Tom should help but he was out right refusing since I wouldn't agree to any repairs.

The technician that originally bought my car out came to assist and crank my car. My car came on but the engine light illuminated and would not go off. By that time Tom appeared again and I told him my engine light was on and he said well you need to attend to the items listed on your repair estimate.

I told him there was nothing wring with my car and no engine lights on before I came in why now after just a simple oil change. I told him to get the mechanic that worked on my car to look at it and I wanted to talk to the service manager.

He flat out refused and said the service manager was not there and could not be reached. He said I could leave my car and they would test it on Oct 5th and let me know what was wrong.

Mr. Thomas Slowik then sent 3 African American males to talk to me with different tactics trying to get me to agree to the repairs. One even tried to sexually hit on me, Mr. Cedric Wilcoxson, from the Sales Dept.! Cedric told me to drive my car 150 miles and the engine light would go off because they had unplugged my battery.

Why was my battery unplugged to change my oil? I was distraught and livid by that time. A guy from the loaner car department came over and said well you haven't had service since 2018 and you need transmission repairs according to our records. I said young man I have had repairs with LexTechs and haven't had any problems. He looked surprised, looked over at Tom, and shook his head and walked off.

I told Tom I was not leaving until my car was fixed. My car had been shut off and the guy from the Quick Lube and a the loaner car department came over to take a look. The Quick Lube guy asked had my car been serviced in his area and when he found out he had not he shook his head and walked off.

They jumped my car and the ABS light and engine light came on again. Tom demanded that I leave my car or be locked in with it after shutting all the bay doors. I told him I was calling the police and give me my key. He was on the phone with the Service Mgr and he finally agreed to let me out.

I requested my key and my car wouldn't crank again. Tom jumped it off and the ABS light had gone off but the engine light came on again. I left, talked with the police, and he refused to write a report citing it was a civil matter. Interestingly the multi-point inspection doesn't show transmission issues.
