National Audit Defense Network ripoff, refuses refund promised, unauthorized charges to credit card, consumer fraud ripoff, thieves Las Vegas Nevada
In November 2002, i was contacted by phone by National Audit Defense Network. I was asked if i would like a refund of $500 from last year's tax return.
My husband had been out of work for over a year due to a large tumor on his spinal cord. Removal of the tumor had left him with severe nerve damage and many complications, and necessitated several more surgeries in the future.
He had not yet begun to receive disability benefits, and my small earnings were all we had. Christmas loomed large and it looked a bit bleak for our kids.
Of course I said yes to their offer. Here's what they said:
For the charge of $29.95, they would examine my taxes for the last three years. If they couldn't get an additional refund for me, my money would be refunded. I could also cancel at anytime.
I sent copies of my returns as requested, and never heard another thing. I called them in December to cancel and request my refund. They apologized, asked me to FAX the returns again, promised to call me the following Monday at a specified time.
Didn't happen. I made several more calls, was finally told they couldn't get anything else back from my taxes. I cancelled, they assured me a refund would be credited to my card.
I didn't get the refund, instead, they continue to bill me $29.95 each month. They billed me TWICE in March.
They have several reps who are snotty, secretive, and basically have a "tough s--- for you" attitude.
