A Mr. Harry Newman called today claiming to be with the National Crime Monitoring Agency which is an arm of the U.S. Department of Justice calling to talk to me about 3 criminal charges which he said he is part of the Investigation Office for Cyber Crimes.  He states that I had Payday loans that were defauted on and that I needed to contact a lawyer as they are about to file criminal charges against me in Federal Court.  I informed him I don't have nor have I ever had a payday loan that the only loan I have was a student loan which then he states that I didn't pay back the student loan and that if I didn't wire the money to them I would be charged with three federal crimes of wire fraud.  Being that I am a retired Officer with nearly 16 years in Law Enforcement I told him his call was bogus which at that point he said bye and hung up.  The number he called from was 626-380-0482 beware if this number comes up ignore it or answer and hang up if they call again, talk to them but get as much information about them and what you need to do and if told to Western Union the money to them go along with what they say and when they hang up call the local police so that they have a report of the call.  Afterwhich, ignore future calls.
