Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

Due to misplaced trust I had to file bankruptcy in 2003.  I have been monitoring my credit report to help rebuild my credit.  Recently there was a posting to my credit report that knocked it down several notches.

National Recovery Agency claimed that I owed $93.00 dollars to Columbia House.

This is a false entry.  I have not ordered anything from them in years.  I have been living in Florida for almost 4 years and it was years before that.

I actually have never recieved anything in writing from either Columbia House or National Recovery Agency, nor have I recieved any phone call regarding the debt they claim that I owe.

I filed an online dispute with Experian and requested documentation to support the claim.  All they did was send me something back saying that the debt was verified.

As I tried to find a phone number for National Recover Agency I see that I am not the only person who as suffered this fate.

My husband feels I should take them to court, and I strongly feel he is right.  I it just unfair that people can just post items to your credit report that are so totally false.  With such a bad economy people strugle as it is....this sure does not help.

You might have read my Ripoff Report on these guys. Same, exact thing. Some bogus Columbia House debt. I think mine was $93, too. I filed a dispute with Equifax, and these crooks somehow convinced them that they had proof that the debt was mine. I sent them a certified letter requesting any proof they had that the debt was mine, but they obviously never responded.

That is when I filed a complaint with the PA Attorney General. I didn't think much would come of it, but I figured I had nothing to lose at that point. To my surprise, they contacted NRA, and they told the AG's office that they would remove the item from my credit report within so many days. I am still waiting for that period to pass, but if they don't remove it, I am sure the AG's office is just gonna love to hear about it.
