On October 4th, I was checking the job postings on Monster.com and came across a listing for Pharmaceutical reps needed. I clicked on the link and came to page that looked like a job posting with a number to call. I called the number and got to National Sales Group, a.k.a NSG. They claim to be a recruiting company with a high success rate. I should have checked them out, but I foolishly spoke to a salesperson named "Derek". He seemed really eager to sign me up for the service, and told me that he would be sending me a book on how to "make the sale" for an advance purchase of $60.00 on top of the initial $30.00 to be listed in their database. If I didn't want the book I could easily send it back and get the $60.00 refund. Also, if I wanted to cancel the listing service, I could call at any time and my credit card would not be charged the continual monthly fee of around $13.00.

I had 30 days to send back the sales book from the day I had signed up with NSG (Oct. 4th). The package took 7 business days and I received it on Oct. 12th. The book was a flimsy workbook-type that is definitely not worth $60.00, and I didn't notice any return shipping label. So I called customer service and after being on hold for 30 minutes, I was told that the shipping label would be sent to me. At that time I canceled the service so that my credit card would not be charged every month. I said that I wanted to keep the membership for 30 days (since I had already paid the $30.00) and after that I wanted to cancel.

Well it is now October 24th and I have yet to receive the return shipping label. I am sure they will conveniently forget to send it so that by the time they receive the book it will be after the 30 day trial period and they will get to keep the money. Also, when I try to log on to access my file, I am locked out- I guess they shut my account down after I told them to close my account after the initial 30 days, but my time is not up yet!

Please do not fall for this scam. I did and I feel like a total fool.

I have pre-paid legal and it wouldn't cost me a dime...if nothing else, they deserve the aggravation.
