I went thru same thing with these thieves. They'll use anything possible from their maniacal phone calls to people to justify "enrolling" them and Wells Fargo gives them access to your account without you ever giving such details to NUFIC.
NUFIC is owned by AIG, hence we the taxpayers own the majority of these thieves, thanks to our government.
Complain to the BBB about what you've lost that they won't return. I think in this case the BBB will help get it back for you. They don't care about AIG's sign-up methods or the aggravation factor, only about whether a loss was incurred.
If it doesn't work, take the bank and AIG to small claims. I think they'll end up settling. They just count on 99% of people not to pursue it.
