In May of 2004 The National Who's Who Middle School Registry Company solicited us in the mail to purchase their product. This product was a book and plaque package that would enable my middle school age son to be included in their publication.
We followed the steps, i.e. sent in the biography material as requested, etc. We then made payment in the amount of 89.00 via check. I have the cancelled check that was cashed by this company dated 6-30-04. Today is March 6, 2005 and I have yet to receive anything from this company.
I started calling this company 10-04 and have called at least 24 times. Each time, I was told that the package was due to be mailed on various dates, and on one occasion, I was even told that UPS had just been there to pick them up! This was 12-04.
I then called a few weeks later and was told that this was not true and the person who told me this had been 'fired'. I have continued to try to contact these people and have only been met with recordings that the voicemail system was full. The times I did get through, I was able to leave a message but NEVER received a return call. I have repeatedly requested a refund.
These people have been very rude when I did talk with them in the beginning. Obviously, they have taken my money and do not intend to send me the product I ordered. I know I am not the only one they have done this to. How can someone do this to a child/children? What if the child used their own money to pay for this? Shame on this company. I hope someone sees this through; this needs national attention so as to warn other parents and to be compensated from what they took from us.
