When I placed an order for CD replication with Nationwide Disc, I had specifically requested that the inner circle of the CD be 22mm as I wanted my artwork to look a certain way. Prior to placing the order, the salesperson reassured me several times that 22mm inner circle would not be a problem. Once I placed the order, Nationwide Disc generated a PDF proof that reflected the 22mm inner circle. I approved the proof and also confirmed with the project manager that I want the inner circle to be 22mm. My discs arrived and the inner circle was 24mm. I was very disappointed as my artwork was designed to reflect the 22mm. My artwork was cut off from the middle. Had I known that they would deliver 24mm after promising 22mm, I would have designed it differently. This was after the fact I had approved the PDF proof and confirmed with them several times. I called Nationwide Disc and questioned them as to why the final product is not matching the proof. They said that they dont guarantee that they will match the proof and that there are tolerance levels. I said that why didnt they mention anything about their tolerance level on the PDF proof or on the contract. After speaking to the production manger, I was given the option to either return the disc with full refund or get a small credit. I chose the later as I was running out of time with my project. It was quite shocking to hear that they were quite casual about the fact that they have tolerance levels, which they failed to mention anywhere. I dont understand how they could arbitrarily change the final artwork without my approvaland then claim that there are no guarantees. Another point to mention is that when I placed my order, I submitted 2 audio Master CDs and indicated to them that I would want them back once the project was complete. Once the project was complete, I requested my Master CDs back. They were only able to mail me 1 of the 2 CDs. I inquired about the whereabouts of the other CD and requested it back. They said that their policy is to destroy 1 CD and keep only 1 CD. Why was I not informed that the other CD would be destroyed? This has caused unnecessary hassle for me, as I would now have to request my studio generate new one for me for an extra charge. The whole experience of doing business with them was not as smooth as I would have hoped for. There were unpleasant surprises at every step.
