Do NOT work for this company.  Nationwide security solutions screwed me and several other sales reps/techs.  Do your research before signing with this company.  You will not get paid what you are promised.  Jason Cane along with his company are a bunch of lying thieves!  He doesn't answer his phone and will ignore you along with the rest of the company.  He owes a lot of people a lot of money, so don's waste your time.  Do NOT let Jason Cane and Nationwide make another dime off of poor suckers who are promised the world, they over promise and under deliver!

Nationwide Security Solutions Jason Cane Scam

Everything you've said sounds all too familiar.  Jason uses his in house attorney and ridiculous contracts to intimidate his past and present employees.  Once you start working for him he has you by the balls and you have very few options.  If you quit working for him you will not get paid and he will likely sue you based on ridiculous allogations.  If you stay with him you risk still not getting paid and working for an extremely unprofessional owner and poor back office.  The list goes on and on why no one should EVER work for this man, I just hope his new reps are smarting than I was!

I'm a customer, not an employee. I'm trying to figure out whether these are nice people with a few problems, or whether they're bad news. I bought the service. It doesn't work. I called them for help. I was told that  the 1 year guarantee on the contract no longer applies. They decided to change it to 3 months, so I'd have to pay a minimum of $50 just to get someone to come look at it. On reading the contract, I found it contained many strange provisions, such as Nationwide having the option to arbitrarily increase the amount owed!

The gal on the phone turned me over to supervisor, who said she'd turn me over to the "legal team" who wasn't in but would call me back. They never did. I know for a fact they definitely turned my banking information over to a mysteriously vaguely named third party. This unidentified third party now has the potential to raid my bank account at will, so I have no other choice but to close my bank account. I tend to regard these people as sleazy liars. The letters affirming them mostly are too lame to be taken seriously.

Concerned Potential New Sales Rep

#4General Comment

Wed, August 15, 2012

Can anybody help shed some light about the real earning potential and comp plan for new reps selling Nationwide Security Home Automation?  I've been approached recently by a local business to sell this product through their company, but before I put all my eggs in one basket, I would like to know the truth in numbers.

  1. What is the average sales volume for each agent per month?

  2. What is the average commission?

  3. How long does it take to receive commissions?

  4. Why is the commission affected by the consumer's credit score?
5.  How in demand really is this product and service?

Any information that would help me make an informed career decision would be greatly appreciated.  I don't want to make the wrong move.

Wishing everybody a successful 2012...

So I am responding to this post once again because I am now following it. I was a branch manager for Jason and fully knew how all of the commissions worked. Plain and simple, I called Monitronics on the deals I hadn't been paid on, some months old, and Jason had been paid on all of them. The day before I called, Jason had "looked into" these sales and told me to my face that he hadn't been paid on them because the customer satisfaction surveys were not at 100% yet so I couldn't get paid until he did. Flat out lies!! Unless Jason has changed his ways and with all of these reports that match my experience years later, he is still a crook. Don't trust him or his company.

You want to talk about professionalism and being too young to know better, I now own my own company and I pulled 250k in salary last year. I did it the real way, not by ripping others off! I know what I'm talking about and believe the other people on this site. The stories are just too similar.

One other thing, how are all of these current employees on here rebutting others stories. You have either been instructed by Jason to come on here and help his reputation or you yourself are unhappy there and we're looking online to see what others were saying. You don't go hunting around online to find good reports on the company you work for!

NSS is positioned for explosive growth!

#6UPDATE Employee

Sun, August 05, 2012

I have worked part time as an independent contractor for Nationwide Security Solutions and I have read the complaints here and must share my thoughts as I don't think the people who have complained are telling the whole story, or maybe they just don't understand the pay scale with all of the variables involved in computing the final pay for each deal.

Before I get into explaining that, I must say that the people complaining were not employees of NSS, but rather independent contractors such as myself. Knowing that, I made myself well aware of the variables that could and will affect my final pay on each deal well knowing that only a picture perfect deal would pay the top commission.

Of course the company will tout the high pay per deal to motivate the sales team to get out there and work, but of course we all know that the high pay is subject to discounts for things such as the customer needing an extra component because the garage is too far from the house to get a signal, or maybe they may have less than desireable credit worthiness in which the deal can be cut considerably as low as $50 in some cases.

Being an independent contractor I feel it is my responsibility and my obligation to treat every customer with respect no matter how much I will be earning on the deal. Furthermore, I take responsibility to act in a business-like manner when dealing with Nationwide Security Solutions as my parent company, because without them I would be out of business.

I feel like the people complaining may think they have a real beef but in all reality if they would just approach the issue with an open mind and get to know the different variables that can and will affect their pay, and act like real business people they wouldn't be on the RipOff Report spouting off like a child who throws a tantrum after not getting what he thinks he deserves.

The real problem is in the pool of applicants in this day and age when everyone thinks somebody owes them a living. They refuse to acknowledge that in business you must conduct yourself professionally at all times whether or not you feel like your being mistreated or misunderstood or ignored.

It's sad to see a good company like NSS being brought under scrutiny like this when they really do have a good reputation, but in the end the truth will be heard and reasonable people will understand where these complaints are coming from and take them with a grain of salt whether they are from former "employees" as they call themselves, or customers who signed into a legal binding contract with a 3 day right of recission whereby they could legally cancel the contract within 3 days with no recourse.

I guess this world is made up of all kinds of people and we must be able to decipher or read thru the lines of these type of reports before allowing the typical rip off report to influence our decision making.

As for me I will continue working with NSS as I see them as a strong reliable company to partner with for a long mutual business relationship. I expect they will be there long after a lot of other businesses have gone by the wayside, as they have proven to be a strong company and a fair company.

Let me ask the complainers here if they would think it to be fair to get paid 100% of their commission if the customers credit worthiness was less than perfect and I bet not one of them would complain about that at all. Well guys, it just don't work that way in the real world. There are some things that are hard for a young man to learn, and one of them is being professional. That will come with time and experience, not something to expect from someone who is still wet behind the ears and works a few months in the summer.

My best advice to anyone who is thinking about going into business for themselves as an independent contractor or any other type of business, treat all who you come in contact with whether it be in person or on the phone or by email with respect and dignity. You really show who you are when you go public with yourself. Kudus to Jason for handling this sitiuation with dignity and respect for the people even while they are trying to give his company a bad name. My hats off to you man, you're awesome.

I have been working on something for the past year that is about to unfold and I expect to be sending you a lot of business real soon. It is my dream to excel in my business venture and I can see tremendous growth for NSS over the next few years, and I do mean tremendous growth.

I believe the day is coming not too far into the future that 75% of all our deals will be coming in on auto-pilot without the need for any door to door sales teams. That is my dream, to take this company into the 21st century of marketing where the majority of all contracts are customer initiated and then we wont have to babysit anymore.

It's closer than you may think, and our competitors are light years behind us already! I really truly believe we are going to dominate the home security industry. That is my dream and that is my goal and I am proud to represent Nationwide Security Solutions!

One more thought to the complainers, when have you ever been able to get an important person to immediately answer the phone when you call? You did give good advice about doing your research before signing on with this or any company. If you would have taken your own advice maybe you would understand the nature of the sales business a little better and had nothing to complain about.

I always get paid what was promised and Jason Cane is quick to respond to any emergency that arises. When I was bitten by a dog on the doors he called me personally to get me in touch with his lawyer so that my medical bills would be taken care of and to make sure I am ok. This report just sounds like someone who work for a few weeks up to a month and then quit. It takes more than a month to fully learn how to make a full commisssion and this ex probably just ran out the door not knowing what to do or under preformed and it reflected in their pay.

Nationwide is the reason I am no longer living in my car and the reason I can continue going to school to finish my degree. Websites like this can help with real scams but it also give ex employees to post anything they want out of bitterness. Anyone visiting these sites should take everything with a grain of salt. People will say anything when they have a computer screen to hide behind.

For what its worth, I nearly signed up for this supposed promotion scam, but something made me a little leary, first of all when it came to the "homeowner qualification" they couldnt find my name, I have lived at this same address for twenty years, the salesman then asked for my SSN, I laughed and told him that under no circumstances would I give it out. He was a very polite young man, but when I told him that as a member of our local sheriffs department I would like to check every thing out first,...... he became nervous. After he left my home, I called the Sheriffs office to ask if indeed anyone in my county had a monitoring account with "monitronics", they had never heard of them. Funny because that is who all the emergency alerts go through in our small rural county. I found out that there had been several calls already, and deputies had warned them the day before about not having business licenses to work in my home town. Any way to make a long story short, The sales reps received citations, and thats kinda sad because they were mostly all very young, and probably didnt even know they needed one. I wouldnt touch this company with a 10 foot pole now. Might be wrong in my feelings, but so far I have never been scammed yet, dont intend to. Pay attention America, there is a sucker born every minute, and two weasels born every minute more than willng to con you out of a hard earned dollar. If it seems to good to be true, politely say no, and close the door. As I told the sales rep. in the opening minutes of the presentation. I have all the home security I need, fully loaded and within reach.

I worked for Jason and Mariam in 2002.  They were up to the same tricks then that they are now.  You would hear that there was problems with your sales and that Jason hadnt been paid yet, but it was all lies!   I worked for the company at the time as a branch manager.  So, I called Monitronics to see if the company had been paid on the clients that I was being told hadnt been paid yet and sure enough, Jason had been fully paid by Monitronics and wasnt paying us.  Jason on this post will tell you that it is a few bad saleman that arent getting paid but when I worked for him, it was all of the salesman. It was the same thing that everybody else is talking about now, but 8 years ago.  You would ask and ask and never get paid on certain jobs.

On top of which, your checks were always late!  We were supposed to get paid every Friday and when checks didnt show up on time, Jason and Mariam were impossible to get a hold of.

Jason will tell you about all of the money you can make and how life will be so grand, but it is all lies!  He is only in it for himself and his family.  Like I said before, nothing has changed in the eight years since I worked for him.  It is an all too familiar story!

FIRST OF ALL, I LOVE THE PICTURE OF JASON AND BILLIE AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS PAGE...i seriously want to print it out.  Who ever posted it put a really nice pic of them up. AND who ever had it must have been with them somewhere nice...things that make you go hmmmmm.

Hi, my name is Christine and I work in the accounting dept in the corp office of Nationwide Security Solutions. I work personally with Jason Cane and HONESTLY this company is DEFINATLY the best company I have ever worked for.  I have never worked somewhere where I know I want to be a part of this company for as long as I can.  We are like a family... everyone here.

I WANT EVERYONE TO KNOW THIS: no company is perfect however, Nationwide Security Solutions needs a little bit more credit then what these "rip off reports" are giving them.  Jason is an amazing and smart individual who started a company that quadupled in size in only a matter of a few years.  We are growing faster then ever and have spead very quickly across America.  That shows me that Jason knows how to run a business.

I THINK I SPEAK FOR EVERYONE HERE AT NATIONWIDE WHEN I SAY THAT WE ARE HAPPY TO BE HERE, WE ARE NOT FORCED TO WORK HERE, WE CHOSE TO, WE ALL RESPECT EACH OTHER AND OUR CUSTOMERS, AND ARE TREATED AS ASSETS OF THE COMPANY AND NOT THROW AWAYS EMPLOYEE'S. If you have had a problem working here, my question is...what did you do?

As for unhappy customers, we try to do our best at making our customers happy.  We own up to our own mistakes and try to fix our problems, IF we are at fault.  Customers are people and make mistakes too or regret purchasing the system so they in turn blame the company that serviced them.

I AM MORE THEN HAPPY TO BE A NATIONWIDE SECURITY SOLUTION'S EMPLOYEE AND "WHEN" I FINALLY BUY A HOME I WILL DEFINATLY HAVE A SECURITY SYSTEM PURCHASED THRU NATIONWIDE.

Jason Cane is such a lier. Jason will promise you the world, but will not pay you crap. He will never call you back. You can call him 20 times in a day and text him like 5 times and he wont respond. But when he does he will be like "Hey buddy whats up" or "Hey buddy whats wrong". He will try to act like he is your best friend and will try to tell you that he is just some active mormon guy. But once you talk to him you will find out super quick he is a super white trash dirt bag. Jason Cane will say he is the owner of the company, Actually his wife has full owner ship of the company. His wife Mairin Moore Cane is just as bad as jason. You will tell her how bad Jason is screwing you over and she will do crap about it. Or she will say that she will look into it, but they will just avoid you. Also he will offer to pay for your housing, But he wont do that. Everyone that works there is super dishonest. Jason's right hand man is Billie Hard, the head of sales at nationwide. He is such a dirt bag too. Honestly you can trust 1 out of every 100 things that Jason says, that goes for Mairin, Billie, Roy, and all of the staff at nationwide.

Yah, I understand exactly where your coming from. Almost the same thing happened to me, I made a bunch of good clean sells but ever only ended up getting paid on about half of them. Finally, i said i was going to quit if I didnt start getting paid what i was owed. Well, guess what? He never paid me on what i was owed or my last 7 sells. He then proceded to stop answering all my calls, and when i called the office about getting paid they would just say I had to talk to jason, and of course jason never once answered for 2 straight weeks. This company is shady, they make money by stealing accounts from reps. Hell, they wont even call them reps, but independant contractors that they make sign independent contractor agreements with. These agreements have hidden in them that they can choose to pay you or not at their discretion, thats how they cover them selfs legally. Its the shadiest company of them all, if you want to sell alarms go to a good solid company, not nationwide, they only pay you in dreams not money. Jason hides behind the church and his slimy contracts. One day he will have to answer for his greed........

#13Consumer Comment

Signing with this company, I have become very skeptical. My father was approached by two guys at my home to sign up for FREE security as long as we stick a sign in our yard for their own advertisement. Well, we didn't want to rush into anything so we told them we would think about it but they pretty much said that it's now or never because they were only giving this deal to a five people. The main representative's name is Chris W. They said it was free because we, the consumer, are doing them a favor by advertising but when they came in to sign the contract and go over everything, they showed us the activation fee and the monthly fee that goes to pay for the 24-hour monitoring, which he said pays the firefighters, police and medical response through the system. This is when I started becoming skeptical, what with the way they approached with a free system, then said there was "only" an activation fee AND a monthly fee that they say is for the emergency response.

Anyway, my dad doesn't know much english so he asked me, a 16 year old who was born in America, to translate for him. So we go through the contract, discuss, explain and translate everything. Chris lowers the activation fee from $199.00 to $99.00 and the 24-hour monitoring fee from $44.99 to $39.99. And before my dad signed this agreement, this contract, I ask Chris if we can cancel it and how much it would cost to cancel it. He said he wasn't sure and it was PROBABLY from $50.00-$100.00. Then he continued that if we did want to cancel it, there was a "Notice of Cancellation" at the bottom of the "Alarm Monitoring Agreement" sheet, that states, "Customer may CANCEL this transaction, without any penalty or obligation within THREE BUSINESS DAYS from Effective Date." So after he tells us this I ask Chris if I can cancel it AFTER the three days and he said that he imagined we could for maybe about $50.00-$100.00 fee.

It's been nearly a month. We called them recently to cancel the agreement and Nationwide Security Solutions said can't because we are on a 36 month contract. The only way is to pay 36-months worth which is obsurd because we might as well be using it. Is there no wiggle room to cancel the agreement because of false information presented by the representative?

I have worked with Jason Cane & Nationwide for 6 years & I have never been screwed out of my pay!  If Jason promises to pay - he does!  I don't know you, but I do know the industry.  STOP BLAMING OTHERS IF YOU MADE MISTAKES.  We all know that salemen have a bad habit in this industry of selling bad deals, or cutting corners.  If you truly believe you were supposed to be paid & you didnt't cheat or lie to get those deals - then approach the sitaution in a calm manner, insults & name calling isn't gonna get you anywhere!

i worked my butt off for this company for a portion of this last summer and i regret doing so! they will not pay you what you were promised.. when your office places an order for equipment (you know equipment key materials needed in selling alarms) they will "overnight it" i quote! one to two weeks later you will receive your equipment.. by then all your deals have cancelled because they as well know that this company is a scam!! do not work for this company and do not purchase one of their alarms. like the other writer expressed do your research!!!! so many better companies out there that will take care of you, care about you, and actually pay you!

nationwide you want facts??????

1: first week working i was supposed to get paid out on 6 deals, total of $2,400. i got paid $550 a loss of $1,850!

2: second week working i was supposed to get paid out on 4 deals, total of $1,600. i got paid $475 a loss of $1,125!

3: third week working i was supposed to get paid out on 6 deals, total of $2,400. i got paid $950 a loss of $1,450!

4: i've been trying to contact nationwide security solutions for my $$ since august! every time i call corporate office i get transfered to some yahoo who is going to "look into this matter further and call me back" never once have i ever received a "call back" and this issue is still not resolved!

5: Jason Cane has avoided my phone calls since august, never returned one of my messages, will not reply to my emails i send, and of course WILL NOT PAY ME!!!

5 facts nationwide, ALL TRUE (hence the word facts) Many more facts i can show you, plenty of evidence to show you if you would ever return my calls, answer my emails or at least talk to me on the phone for more than ten minutes before transferring me to some other lazy con artist. now dont just rebuttal online just to make your company "look good". actually resolve my matter along with the other 20 or more ex employees that you owe money too!

In conclusion why would you work for Nationwide Security Solutions? the answer is simple. To be lied to, to be robbed and most important to be scammed by jason! As for me, I will be working for a company that will at least pay me what i was promised this next summer. hope you make that same choice!:)

Obviously from a company view they are going to try to save themselves by following up.  Unfortunately this post will not stop enough people from working for this terrible company.  It is ran poorly.  Jason Cane will lecture you about how he promises to pay you correctly, your getting the best deal, retention rate is so good.  He might even throw some Mormon church stuff in their to butter you up(Jason Cane is as as slimy as his hair). They supposedly pay the highest in the industry $600 per deal wow, doesn't really matter if your getting $1000 a deal, if a company only pays you for half your deals, or doesn't pay you at all then your really not getting paid that much are you?   You will be sold on the dream.  When it comes down to it, it is just bullshit.  Jason Cane and Nationwide Security Solutions screwed me and everyone I know that worked for this company.  Do your research before joining this company.  Please do your research, if I stop one person from getting screwed from Jason and nationwide, then I have done my job.  I am on here to share my experience and my co workers experience as well.  Do NOT let Jason Cane and Nationwide screw you over so they can keep getting deeper/thicker pockets.  I promise you there are better companies out there if you want to sell security.  Nationwide is unorganized.  You never know what your pay is until you get a check, if you even get one.  It always seems like there is a problem with your deal and it was not funded, but they don't let you know this.  Just ask people who have worked for this horrible company.  I am only one coming forward.  I can have at least 20 other people share the same ideas and thoughts I am posting.  Oh yeah don't expect Jason Cane to answer your phone when you need something.  He will wait, then call you back a couple days later.  "oh hey buddy whats going on"  This company is one of the worst in the industry, there's a reason why they wont get big, because they screw reps over, BOTTOM LINE.  Last thing Nationwide calls it breaching your contract when you quit, because you didn't get paid they will keep your hold fund, and make it seem like you were fired.  This company is a joke!  Their shirts are cheap, their welcome packets are cheap, and Jason Cane and Nationwide Security Solutions LIES!!

Baseless Allegations

#18UPDATE Employee

It is unfortunate when a report of this nature is made without giving us (Nationwide Security Solutions or NSS) an opportunity to rectify the matter as best we can. How easy is it for an unsatisfied/unhappy person who knowingly contracted to work with NSS to create a baseless report of this nature instead of simply attempting to work toward a mutually beneficial solution.

Our effort is always to provide the best customer experience with full satisfaction. When sales reps refuse to strive for the same or engage in unlawful behavior then we are left with few options. We must protect the interests of the customer in every case.

We can only guess that the author of the original report is one of a handful of independent contractors who recently openly disregarded this policy and effort and wilfully breached their contracts with NSS thereby causing NSS to incur thousands in losses.

We are always happy to engage our independent contractors in an open discussion at any time regarding matters of business, policy and compensation. We cannot force them to do the same.
