Nautilus Plus, succursal Place Montreal Trust, is probably one of the best located gyms in downtown Montreal. Despite the good location and the big windows over McGill College Street, the service is unsatisfactory by its own and dreadful, exceptionally bad when compared to other gyms in the city - from the managers to the junior trainers, all they care about is how to make you spend more money under their roof.

I am a very active, fit 33-year-old woman who works out since the age of 21. I have worked out in more than 10 different gyms througout those 12 years, in 3 different countries, so I suppose I have all the elements to compare in terms of gym installations, cleanliness, staff interaction with customers, trainers professionalism, etc.

I keep challeging myself when it comes to exercising so that I keep motivated and active wherever I am. I turned to Nautilus Plus because I wanted to give a boost to my workout regimen with the assistance of a personal trainer and a nutritionist. I opted for the 3-month Tandem program because I had to leave the country in few months (I mentioned that when I chose that program). Maybe I shouldn't have, since all I got from the first session was a reckless service and utter disregard to the "mission" of the program. On their website Nautilus Plus describe that program saying "you will be taken care of throughout the entire program".

That never happened. When I missed a session with the trainer (because of a honest mistake), she never got back to me to ask what had happened or to ask if I would like to pay AGAIN for a new session in order to keep myself on track. Instead, despite seeing me 3 or 4 times a week at the gym since then, she gave me a speech on our next appointment saying that I had simply not showed up, implying that I wasn't committed to the program.

Other trainers - committed to their jobs and to the mission of their companies - would have contacted their clients somehow.

I found out, only that day, that I was supposed to have an appointment with her 1 MONTH earlier. What a motivation setback. Time and money wasted because poor service, lack of communication and disregard for other people's goals, time, and money, not to mention SELF-STEEM.

What happened to the "supervised plan of action that is tailored to suit your personal needs, you will be taken care of throughout the entire program"?

The staff is really efficient in one thing tho: getting you to spend your money on outdated programs that enslave you into their selfish membership making machine.
