Paid Mortgage Electronically to NFCU and on one occasion I dropped a digit and the payment was short by $8.00 (eight)  This happened without my knowledge.  I did not receive any calls or emails.

I went to get gas and my ATM card failed, then another bank card failed and I didn't know what to think.  The other bank card was for a bank that had very few dollars, I looked at the card and it had expired.  So I felt better about that, but NFCU was still a problem.  I had just finished watching Enemy of the State for about the third time so I was feeling a little paranoid, two cards at once!

I gave up on gas and went into best buy and asked the cashier to run my NFCU credit card against a Twix bar, no good.  At this point I am looking for satellites.  I go home and call NFCU; to my surprise, my account is frozen because I didn't pay the full amount of my mortgage, I was $8 off (eight) So feeling relieved I say ok well I can't access my account on the phone or online can you transfer the money?  "NO"  she said.  WHAT!  It is in collections and they are gone for the weekend.  So now between me and eating and fuel is eight dollars and a collection agent that won't be in for at least 48 hours.

Even if my other account was good, it had about 15 bucks, I had switched everything to NFCU because everything has always been there.  25 years.  That account was just an allotment account for quick cash.  The next week I refinanced.  That is a ripoff  I won't even tell you what I did immediately following my conversation with customer service when they said they couldn't transfer the money.
I say just stay away, they fees you pay at a BANK, are for service and you do not get that on weekends at NFCU.
