Collection Agencies are allowed to contact you seven days a week(so Sunday is okay) between 8am and 9pm your local time, unless you inform them otherwise. You can get them to stop by sending them a Cease Communication letter to them. In the letter you need to state that they are to no longer contact you by phone(and if you want by mail) about this debt. Send it Certified with Return Receipt, once they get the letter if they do call you again they are in violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act(FDCPA) and you can sue them for violating the FDCPA. Now, this does not make the debt go away it just keeps them from contacting you about it. So don't be surprised that until you deal with this debt they may sell the debt to another agency and you will have to do this again. So you may want to dispute the debt. To do this you need to request "Debt Validation", in which they must prove that you owe the debt or they have to stop all collection efforts. The key is that what ever you do with NCO or any collection agency is to always do it through the mail and never on the phone. This way you have a paper trail of what was said and promissed.
