Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

I purchase a 18V Makita battery from needbattery.com about 12 months ago.

6 months after the purchase, the battery was not holding charge to the point that 8 months after purchase the battery will hold charge for only 5 minutes.

I sent the battery to Makita for repair and they told me that I had a fraud/fake battery and it was not a Makita battery.

I called and e mail needbattery.com about 14 times and I never got a response. When you call, you will never talk to a person. You can only leave a message but they will not call back.

I hope nobody else looses his/her money wtih needbattery.com

Pedro

You don't understand what "replaces" means...

I went to the website and looked up power tool batteries, then makita. On every makita battery..it says...

Replaces
: Makita 6075DW Makita replacement 3 Ah 7.2 V Black NiMH Power Tool Battery Part Number: BPT1010

So it means it it replaces the Makita part number..with their part, which clearly is a different number. You need to be aware of that when you buy anything...that "replaces" means it is not an original part. So this place can not get in trouble for false advertising or misrepresentation.

In addition to also protect their asses, they have this disclaimer written in the return policy..

Disclaimer: Our replacement products may not be the Original Equipment from the Manufacturer, however they are tested and are certified to be 100% OEM Compatible. Many times our products are the only replacement as the manufacturer does not carry or no longer supports a particular device. Returns for items based on the reason that it is not from the manufacturer are not valid and will not be honored. Any return that is received will be subject to a 25% restocking fee for violating these terms.

Whats worse..is i can not find for the life of me a warranty period. Why did you buy from this place? Just because it was cheap? Here is all I could find for a return policy..30 days..your battery went bad after 6 months and you want to talk to them? Of course they won't call back...

Order Cancellations and Return Policy

Our policy is to provide our customers with superior customer service. All of our products carry a 100% satisfaction guarantee. If, for any reason, you're not completely satisfied with your purchase, return the product(s) to us within 30 days and we will refund the full product price.

It is good that you reported here to warn others. the problem is, anyone who would order from a place like this, probably will not do any research at all, and they will be in the same boat as you in 6 months. Then they will complain and it's too late. People have to learn to use better judgment sometimes. be glad this was just a cheap drill battery. We read here people do this with much larger purchases then this.
