On July 24, 2014, I received a letter in the mail letting me know that it was my time to re-certify for the Services that I receive from the Los Angeles County Department of Public Social Services. There was a form which consisted of several pages, requesting various information. I filled out the form and answered all of the questions. I had written on the form that I have a new mailing address and I gave that new mailing address. The next day, I mailed it in to the agency in the envelope that was provided. Another letter that was mailed with it said that my Social Worker is now NEISHA MYERS.
On or about July 30th, I received a letter that stated that I will have a telephone interview with my Social Worker, NEISHA MYERS. This letter said: You have a telephone appointment scheduled for August 6th at 10:00am. Please be sure you are ready to answer your phone at that exact time... etc.
On August 6th, I sat at home and I received no phone call from anyone. We will call this lie #1.
On August 7th, I sat at home and I received no phone call from anyon
On August 8th, Neisha Myers decided that she would call me when she should have called me two days prior. She gave no valid reason for not having called me when she should have. I told her AGAIN about my new mailing address. I also asked her if she had received my proof of income that I sent in with the packet that I received on July 24. She said that she has it. This proves I sent in the packet. Then she asked me a few questions and told me that I will get a letter in the mail letting me know about the post-interview status of my case. I never received that letter. We will call this lie #2.
On August 21, I received a letter in the mail at my OLD mailing address. (SIGH) This letter said that my original packet that I had sent in on July 24, had never been received. (We will call this lie #3) It said that if I do not send it in, my benefits will be discontinued on August 31. I IMMEDIATELY called the toll free customer service number located on all of the mailings that this agency sends out. I told the Agent that took my call that I am in fear of not having my benefits. I was so adamant about this, that she had to tell me to calm down while she assured me that my benifits will not be interrupted on August 31st and that I will still get my benefits on September 5th as usual. She said that she would send a message to my Social Worker NEISHA MYERS and that NEISHA MYERS will call me back within 4 business days. Because of NEISHA MYERS' previous inabilities to properly do her job and keep her word on things, I asked the Agent what I will do if NEISHA MYERS does not call me back. This Agent said that if I don't hear from NEISHA MYERS by the end of day on August 25th, for me to call back on August 26th.
On August 26th, I had still not heard from NEISHA MYERS. (BIG SURPRISE!) (We will call this lie #4) I had just received another letter from the agency telling me that my benefits will now be terminated on August 31st. I called customer service AGAIN. I told the Agent there the entire story up until now. She said that THIS TIME, she will send a message to both NEISHA MYERS AND HER SUPERVISOR to contact me immediately about the status of my benefits. She said that I should hear from one of them by the end of the day. At the end of that day, I had not heard from anyone. (We will call this lie #5) One of the letters that I had received said that I have a right to have a state hearing if I feel that I have had my benifits unjustly reduced or cancelled. It was the end fo the day already, so I decided that I will call the next day to request a hearing.
On August 27th, I called the state of California at the telephone number provided and I made a phone call to request a hearing. The Agent there, took my information and said that they will contact me by phone regarding my future hearing. This Agent also offered me the phone number to the Chief of the Los Angeles County Department of Public Social Services. I called the office of the Chief. I spoke to an Agent there and told him the whole story up until now. He told me that he ASSURES ME that I will hear from either NEISHA MYERS OR HER SUPERVISOR WITHIN TWO HOURS. This was at 9:00am. At the end of the day. Eight hours later, I had still not heard from anyone. (We will call this lie #6)
On September 3rd, NEISHA MYERS finally decided that she will call me late once again than I was promised. (I am used to this at this point.) The obvious bothered NEISHA MYERS said: "So you called the Chief's office"? Now I had to deal with an upset Social Worker who is upset because she has not been doing her job. I told her about all of the times I was assured she would call me and nobody called me. Neither she OR her Supervisor or ANYONE! She said that she had not called me because her office was being moved from it's original location in the building. I was not sure which one of the two times she was told to call me and did not that she was talking about. Then I wondered why even her Supervisor did not call me back two times! She told me that she needed some additional documention that she had never asked for in the original telephone interview. She said that she did ask for it but she did not. (We will call this lie #7) She told me that she will keep an appointment for me on May 5th at 12:00pm where I can bring in the documentation. She said that my benifits will still go through on September 5th in the mean time. When I get my benifits for the 5th of every month, the credit hits account at midnight on the evening of the 4th. At midnight on the evening of the 4th and up until the writing of this report, I still have not received my benifits credit. (We will call this lie #8) I needed my benifits to be credited as promised in order for me to make my appointment on the 5th. This is because I am disabled and I have no personal vehicle. It takes me 4 hours total (back and forth) just to ride the buses to get there. I am also a diabetic. So for me to go out to the DPSS office, I need to be able to eat out at places along the way that take EBT. I could not do that because NEISHA MYERS committed lie #8.
On September 6th, a Saturday, I received a letter from the Los Angeles County DPSS. It said that the county has been informed that I will be having a state hearing and that they want me to give them a call to discuss if the problem can be handled. The letter also stated that if my benefits have been reduced or interrupted, that it is imperitive that I call. This letter was from Los Angeles County DPSS Appeals Hearing Speciaist Jenny Aguilar. I had to wait until Monday when their office is open in order to call.
On September 8th, I called Ms. Aguilar at the number given on the letter, first thing in the morning. I spoke to Ms Aguilar and told her this whole story up until now. Ms. Aguilar told me that there is usually nothing she can do once benifits have been interrupted for reasons such as me not turning in the required paperwork. I told her that I DID turn in the paperwork and that I have been calling up like hell to try to resolve the problem! She said that she can see in the notes all the times I have called and that she would still try to see what she can do. I asked her if she would call me back once she sees what she can do, to let me know what is going on. She told me that she will call me back by the end of the day and let me know. At 5:00pm, at the end of the business day for the DPSS, I had never heard back from Ms. Aguilar or anyone else. (We will call this lie #9) At 5:19pm, I recieved a call from NEISHA MYERS. SHE WAS PISSED! At this point, I lost it. I reminded her of all the attrocites above. (I won't repeat it here, scroll up) When she was confronted with her constant failures and lies, she said that she will just leave a message for her Supervisor to call me and handle this. I said: "Is this the same Supervisor that never called me back two times before)? She just repeated herself telling me that the Supervisor will call me. I will write an update to this report and document here what happens tomorrow or whenever someone decides they are tired of making me wait for a phone call. I am not holding my breath. I won't say a thing about NEISHA MYERS personally, but you can look at her picture that I retrieved off of her Facebook page and for many, that explains it all.

I guess you are also an oil driller mud who has no life and nothing better to do with your time than to go around ripoffreport trying to correct peoples terminology. This is what the people at this county agancy call themselves. If they are wrong then maybe you should call the county and complain to them and see how far THAT gets you. The last thing you want Stacey, is my full undivided attention, believe me.

I can guarantee this woman is not a Social Worker because Social Workers must be licensed by the State they work in. She is more likely to be a case worker ie: she is your food stamp caseworker. SO stop calling her a social worker!
