Net-vestigator and Cyber-vestigator ripoff Internet
I was looking up my credit report, and I received a pop-up ad for Net-vestigator. It stated I could download the program now for $25.00. I could obtain credit reports, birth and death certificates, driving records, police records, and much much more.
Considering that my credit report was going to cost $14.95. I decided to pay $25.00 to download the Net-vestigator program.
I used my checking account debit card and it took the Net-vestigator all of a "cyber minute" to debit my account.
I was having problems installing the program so I sent an email to the webmaster asking for help with the installation. It seems like it is going to take a "cyber decade" to receive a response. So I continued to try to install the program. By sheer LUCK I succeeded with the installation. But much to my surprise it was not as it was advertised.
The program consists only of lists of links that a person can access from any search engine. When I used the link to obtain my credit report, it took me to the credit agency site that I was visiting before I ever heard of Net-vestigator. And they want the same $14.95 that I was going to pay earlier.
Please don't fall for this scam as I have. As I said it is only a list of links that will take you to sites that you can access through any search engine.
I don't know if this is fraud. But it is certainly misrepresentation!!
