Neuwirth Motors Stolen miles, substandard service Wilmington ripoff North Carolina
Took my Jeep to Neuwirth to have doors replaced that were stolen. They first stated that it would take two weeks. Two weeks went by and another two weeks. Meanwhile my insurance coverage on the rental car ran out. I drove to Wilmington to see the progress only to find that the Jeep had 80+ miles on it. The service manager stated they would do an investigation to find who was taking the Jeep. Needless to say this is a new Jeep and the miles now count towards the warranty limitations.
Nothing was done about this. To add insult to injury, the auto body manager decided to take it for another joy ride "just to be sure that no mechanical damage was done". Of course adding even more miles to the Jeep. I drove a week later to pick up the vehicle not caring if it was complete, just to have it back and out of their hands.
I was complete but had to sign some paperwork before taking it. They slipped in a waiver of liability for any damage thinking I would just sign it. I refused so the woman in the pay cage called the manager letting them know I would not sign it. She stated that she could not release the vehicle until I did sign. The general manager came out and had no clue about any "investigation" or about the miles to my vehicle and any unauthorized use of my vehicle.
He released the Jeep back to me. I told them I wanted the owner to contact me when he came back into the country. He did call and told me there was nothing he could do about this. He was blunt and uncaring about this whole situation.
This is the last contact I had with them. Does anyone know what rights I have concerning the warranty or reimbursement of rental car? Remember they did document the mileage upon arrival (towed to the dealership) and upon return to me.
