Neville Group ripoff: Nevex Group claims to act act as credit fraud service, threatens asset search and notification of local police department New York, New York
Neville Group poses as 'fraud investigation service' claiming fraud on my part when I reversed charges on my credit card statement from RXMED.CH ZUG of $366.45. This includes the original charge of 321.45 and a collection fee of 45.00 from me.
The letter mentions an AVS match and a CVV2 match. It further states that I must complete and return an enclosed affidavit stating that "I did not participate in the transaction, did not order said product, did not authorize the transaction," and so forth or instead, pay a remittance fee noted above.
The alleged transaction occurred on April 20, the reversal occurred on June 20 and the threatening letter was sent in early September. The letter states :'Neville Group' may initiate court proceeding for filing an improper credit card chargeback report; that they are currently conducting a search of my available assets, and that 'my returned affidavit' stating my innocence along with supporting documents must be returned within 10 days which will then "be forwarded to the local police department".
Interesting when I view the supposedly defrauded company, that it appears to be an 'offshore' company. There are no specifics concerning the nature of the "order", furthermore, that it fails to mention any details concerning type of product and shipment details,i.e., delivery attempts, that would presumably accompany such an order. I realize this last may not apply as the alleged fraud was about reversing charges, not failure to deliver goods or materials, but then how do they arrive at the $321.00 figure?
Has anyone else had any experience with this company and its bullying tactics? I am guessing, from other internet posts about this company concerning potentially embarrassing, eg.XXX products, that this company targets persons who may have ordered such products in the past and then attempts to blackmail them with 'exposure' should they protest the current charge.
