New Century financial Pressler & Pressler New century financial: making single moms homeless Parsippany New Jersey
First off I would like to give a little back story. I am a single mom to 5 children. I have an ex husband who is over 1/4 million behind in child support, and the family home (which I've been in for 12 yrs) in foreclosure and I have a few weeks left there. So, needless to say, money is tight. I start working odd jobs, mainly cleaning houses, and in a years time I manage to scrape together $1,700. That was literally ALL I had to my name. Not one family member to help me out. My little savings to get us into low income housing in a few weeks, so we are not homeless, is now gone. Can't buy food. Can't put gas in my car to get to work. Truly on my own.
I wake up on August 9th, and out of habit I check all my accounts. I have 2 savings and 2 Checking, spread out in two banks. I see a $0 balance in all 4 accounts. I figured this was wrong so I call the banks. 100% of my money was taken out from a levy by new century financial. Literally every penny to my name. I start to go into panic mode. I call New Century Financial and was told pressler & pressler is handling this. I call them crying so hard I can barely speak. I find out I had a $1900 phone bill from tmobile from 2007. I've never known this. I plead and plead in tears, close to nervous breakdown, begging for some of my money back so I can feed my kids. I ask for manager after manager. Someone should have a heart and be able to help me. In this robot tone throughout everyone I spoke to, I got the same answer. "It's not in our clients best interest to give you back any of your money."
After about 2 hrs, they say of *kindness*, they wil give me back $200 out of my life savings so I can buy food, and 'we shouldn't even be doing that." I kept saying over and over to them that they never even contacted me. And i never even knew about this bill! They wanted to hear nothinit of it.
I then rush to get all paperwork together to figure this out. And in the process I get a copy of the court order. I notice the address on it. It was a po box. I've never had a po box and have been in the same home for 12 years. So I call them back an ask what were ALLL the addresses they have been mailing since 2007, when this case opened. The addresses they gave me were all if my ex husbands addresses and po box. NOT ONCE did they contact ME! Making what they did extremely illegal!
And now here I am 2 days later, no return calls, and no ability to care for my children.
