I placed the original order during the last week of FEB 2003 and my card was charged on 2/25/03 per my statement for a total of $39.95.

It was a handmade item and I fully understood it might take 4-6 weeks before I received the order. Remember, my card was charged immediately, however.

I called twice to check on the status of my order as the 6 weeks approached. Each time I was told "the item had not come in yet."

I received a postcard dated May 17 stating "the order would be shipped on or around June 23, 2003."

I called at least one more time to check on the status of the order around June 23, 2003. It was still not in. As the occasion of giving this gift had long passed, I decided to cancel the order. This was in July by this time.

During this call, when I spoke to Mary, I was told that, surprise surprise, the item was in -FINALLY (if I were to believe that I would truly have been gullible). I explained it had taken so long that I had given something else as a gift and I would like my credit card to be credited. She stated that I would be credited immediately.

I have been calling each month since that time, and every time I get Mary on the phone. However, she has put me off and I am given a reason why the credit could not be done at that time. (The owner has to authorize it, the owner is out of town, someone is in a meeting and can't come to the phone, I'm the only one here, I'll get to it later, etc.).

I called in the beginning of Sept 2003 and was told that credit cards are not credited as a matter of policy - but checks are issued for refunds. hmmmmm..... nevertheless, Mary told me that a check would be issued to me on 9/19/03.

I called again on 9/29/03 and spoke to Mary - again I was told that she had not gotten to it yet and told me to call back in 4 hours when I would be given a check number (indicating supposedly a check had been cut). I called back as directed and she was exceptionally rude and abrupt. I asked her why she was so irritated with me. I asked why it had been so difficult to get my money back and since she was customer service, why she could not help me out.... she hung up!!!!!!

Mary has always had bad phone manners / tone but hanging up on a customer is totally unacceptable. IT IS NEVER ACCEPTABLE!

I shop 95% out of catalogues.... this is the first time I have had such bad luck.

These people have lost the ability to reconcile or deal with me directly. I want Rip-off Report to help me. I do not want them to call me, they can call and deal with you.

This is what I am out-of-pocket:

$39.95 for the undelivered order - I have nothing from this!

$20.00 for all my long-distance calls

$15.00 for the extra expense of rushing another gift to my friend.

$75.00 for my lost time.
