Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
After 3 divorces and supporting a bunch of deadbeat guys, I finally took control of my own life and tried to turn the tide in my favor. HA!! I know, you made your bed, now lie in it--I have been for 3 years since my last shedding of slacker guy weight.

I filed bankruptcy and was granted Chapter 7 in January of this year, so I decided it was time to take the rebuilding steps to get credit, since I am a single parent and want to buy a house or new car one day (another HA!!) I went for the secured credit card.

I did lots of research and looked into several. First, I was stupid and jumped into the NEW MILLENIUM one that charges an online processing fee of $129.95. Then, you have to send them a $300 deposit. I paid the online fee, but did not have the $300 yet, so I kept looking around.

I went with First Premier (Yeah, I have read all the stuff here about them--I am warned and watching), who would not require an upfront deposit. When I tried to cancel with New Millenium, they said as long as I did not send in the $300, they did not open an account. I asked if I could get my $129.95 back and was told no. This kind of money to a single parent, and low-paid teacher nonetheless, is a tough pill to swallow.

I read the documents, but could not find the specific information about not being able to refund the $129.95 fee if you decided not to deposit the money. This transaction was made on 02/22/06.

Is there a way for me to get my refund? Or do I just need to eat the charges and chalk it up to experience with credit desperation.
