Thomas, I'm sorry to say you are incorrect with your assessment. The FDIC advised me that MERRICK BANK, purchased a small segment of the NextCard portfolio. The larger segment was turned over to the NextCard Master Trust. The second, is being serviced out of Norcross Georgia. Barbara, If you can get a copy of the $4500 check from your credit card company, see if the check was actually for $4500 or if it was printed for $45.00 That's a big difference. Another options would be to have your credit card company contact the NextCard Master Trust directly on your behalf to correct the $4500 problem. Since they normally have behind the scenes contacts. Could be the high speed payment processing center encoded the check incorrectly. Good Luck!

Nextcard is no more. All active accounts were assumed by Metris and other creditors. All delinquent obligations were auctioned off to bad debt buyers by the FDIC. All accounts in collection are for the sole benefit of debt buyers and not the company, shareholders or the FDIC!
