I elected to transfer the required balance at the time of enrollment in order to receive free membership in this company's Reward program as stipulated, "NextCard may offer an optional Rewards Program in which cardholders can earn Rewards Points for their NextCard Visa or MasterCard Purchases.

The Annual Membership Fee is waived for those cardholders who qualify for an Upgrade Package including a Balance Transfer offer and transfer the required balance at the time of enrollment.

Cardholders who do not qualify for an Upgrade Package including a Balance Transfer offer or who choose not to transfer the required amount can elect to enroll in the NextCard Rewards Program by paying the Annual Membership Fee, which will be posted to and added to the balance of your Account." , found online here: https://apply.nextcard.com/tnc_generic.

When I first applied for the card I was charged the Annual Membership Fee, but it was credited back after a phone call to company in which I told them that I had transferred the required balance for free membership.

On the annual application date, the charge appeared again on our bill. I called the company again and told them that I had enrolled in the No Fee.

The customer service rep refused to honor my agreement and defied me to find such an agreement. The only option I was offered to cancel my rewards program and forfeit all points earned to date.

My complaint stems from their fraudulent advertisement of a no-fee service when all requirements for a no-fee service have been met.
