NICOR GAS ESTIMATING YOUR USAGE BASED ON SOMEONE ELSE'S USAGE Naperville, Illinois
When relocated to a new address, Nicor gas estimated my last month's usuage at the old address based on previous year of the same location. When I argued with them that I did not reside at that address the previus year and someone else was residing there and they have calculated my estimate based on someone else's usage they told me it is OK. I told them this is illegal because you ought to estimate my usage based on my previous months and not based on someone else's usuage. I asked them to make an actual reading and send me the information so that I could pay. They agreed but they never took the actual reading and they want me to pay for their estimate which is based on someone else's usage and more than what we actually used. I have talked to two of their supervisors and both have told me that their estimate based on someone else's usage is OK.
