I used to work for this company and have spoken to several customers. I understand about being upset about the bill but I would have to refer you to your lease contract that was signed the day you drove your vehicle off the lot. All lease contracts with NMAC specifically say that you your vehicle SHOULD be inspected prior to the end of lease at your home or place of business. The contract does say NOT to take the vehicle to the dealership as they are not responsible for the vehicle. As a leasee, the customer is responsible for that vehicle and responsible for getting the inspection completed prior to turning it in and also turning in the vehicle prior to terminating lease. I feel that the finance company does more than enough to try and get the customer to take care of this prior to turning in the vehicle. At 9months before the end of lease, information is sent out by mail which advises about the end of lease procedures. This info is also sent out at 6 months, 3 months and 90 days prior to the end of lease. At about 30-60 days prior to the end of lease, the company calls your home to try and get your appointment set up your complimentary inspection. The inspection is good for 30 days...and if they find any items that need to be repaired or you feel that it's normal wear and use, they will send a supervisor out to inspect the vehicle. I know that it sounds like NMAC "bothers" the customer, but they have learned by past mistakes. If they don't send out the information and don't call, the customer says "I never knew about this inspection" even though the contract states it. Many dealers will not tell you about your end of lease procedures and many dealers will not go over the contract with you but as a consumer, you have to read what your signing.
