All numbers given to me have been disconnected and all emails are no longer available. St Petersburg Florida
In October 2012 I retianed NLA Law Firm for a home modification loan. I received a letter in the mail telling me about all the money Obama had set aside for home modification loans to assist people having hardship in decreasing their home mortgage loans. I contacted them at the number that was listed on the letter and was cheerfully greated by Holly. She explained all the information about the loan modification and then I explained my situation to her and asked her if NLA Law Firm could assit me & if I would qualify.
After talking with Holly for several minutes I felt NLA Law Firm could help me with a loan modification. She went through several steps with me, taking my information and after we were finished she told me I did qualify for a loan modification and NLA Law Firm could help me decrease my monthly loan payment. Holly advised me it would only cost me $2,995.00 and due to my situation I could split it up into 3 payments. I advised her my whole problem was the amount I paid monthly for my mortgage and that I could not pay my loan company and NLA Law Firm. She then told me that they could not really come out and tell me not pay my mortgage payment for 3 months and pay them instead but she stated "that could be one way to do it".
So as stupid as I feel now, I skipped 2 monthly payments to my current loan company, "which I have never done" and sent them the $2,995.00. During the 3 months of splitting up the payments I was also talking with the people listed above about what additional paperwork was needed for my modification loan to be completed. I completed everyting on the computer they asked and also faxed them everything that was asked, which was all personal information.
It was December 2012 and I could not get anyone to call me back, all the phone lines were unlisted and all the emails given to me were no longer receiving anything. Everything I tried said unlisted, disconnected or returned. I tried to contact a lady I talked with at the very beginning and I could not believe it but she answered the phone. She explained to me that due to hurricane Sandy all of their phones and computers were out of service and she did not know when they would be up and running again. She told me someone would contact me within 2 or 3 days to let me know which local attorney had my case so I could talk with them. Well you guessed it, no one called me back and I could not reach anyone, not even the lady I just talked with 3 days earlier. Her number now said it was no longer in service.
I am reaching out to anyone for help. I would at least like to get my $2,995.00 back and for anyone stating if it was so bad for me why do I not give my information or details? Well we are told not to and if someone was helped by NLA Law Firm in the past, good for you & I am happy for you but they have not done anything to help me and from what I am reading many, many others.
If anyone can help me or knows of an attorney that has a case against NLA Law Firm, please get my email and contact me. Thank you for taking the time to read my letter and for doing any research against NLA Law Firm to assist us.
