After speaking with a John @ (240) 386-9247 per Craigslist posting, he had stated that he had a few houses for rent. He showed us a house at 8105 Port Royal Way & 7804 Deerglen Way both in Sacramento, CA 95823 and after seeing the property it looked as if the houses were not even livable. On all of these houses they stated all we need is $1500 cash to move in and that we would not have to pay rent till September due to a move in special.
When I asked about paying with a money order he stated that they dont do first payments by money order and that he would provide us with a receipt of payment. The house on Deerglen Way he didnt even have the right keys to get into the house and stated that he would need to call his locksmith and wouldnt have the keys till the morning, which right off hand didnt sit too well with me. Now on to the house on Port Royal Way, and the question is where do I start
First off when he opened the door, right away after walking in I felt like I was going to need a tetanus shot. Wires were hanging out of the walls, paint was a mess with multiple colors over all of the walls, electric outlets were missing covers, mold all over the place and thats just the start. The info for the 4 bedroom house I could not find but he provided this information to me over the phone. After doing some research I found that someone else had also had a run in with this same company. I took a picture of the letter head which had the address and phone number of North Gate Asset Company 2885 Sanford Ave. SW, Grandville MI 49418 Tel 877-397-1360 Ext.1, attempting to call the company I got the recording that the number was not in service.
I hope that this will help with anyone else that might have a run in with this company.
