Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

So, where to begin? Well back in i want to say August or September of 2011 i was checking out different medical schools for LVN'S. STumbled upon this school, thought it was an awesome place, it was right down the street from me, the hours were okay, and everyone seemed so nice, BOYYYYYY was i WRONG!!!!!

First i had to go in there, do there little test, and of course passed it, Everyone was oh so nice to me.... Then met with finacial aid, went over everything, even had my fiance come wiht me to make sure it didnt seem shaddy at all. He didnt seem alarmed, looking back now i think he just wanted to make me happy, Luckly he did not sign anything for me. So after paying an innital 700$, they told me i had to take a pre class, which was understandable. until i got in there.. When i started school i had no clue about any of the abbriviations or any medical terms..

We had alot of tests, and there was over 50 people in the class and they told us they were only going to take the best 30 students, which was a little odd to me, but i continued anyways, so when i first started the 5 week class, i was  not doing too good in it, but i was learning, as the weeks went by instead of c's on the tests i would get a's..so i thought that i had a chance to make it, yeah i guesss not. somehow i "Missed making it into term 1 by .5%" Talk about a punch in the face basically.

Then they said that if i wanted i could take the class over again but would have to pay the fees again, which was 700$! i was like oh hell no!!!! i was so pissed after all of this, then after about 2 years i get a collections bill in the mail for 1000$!!!! Which i had no clue i had a balance, or what it was for! THe school never attempted to contact me either. (my addresss, email, and phone number are allthe same!!! HAVE NEVER CHANGED!!!!)

Yeah so then i call the school about my bill, and of course i get the run around... but i kept calling and calling and still could not find an answer, so then i call the main campus in covina. Well what do you know, still getting the run around. So i decided to just stop on in there. Boy oh boyyyy were they surprised....And of course they cant "FIND" My file...imagine that?!?! SO i kept going in there and still no file could be found to tell my why i owe them 1000$... I called the campus director at the main campus about 45 times, left her a voicemail everytime, and needlessto say, SHE NEVER CALLED ME BACK!!!!!!! And its not like i just said my name and hung up, i slowly said my FULL NAME, PHONE NUMBER, WHAT I WAS CALLLING ABOUT, AND AGAIN REPEATED MY NAME AND NUMBER.

Needless to say, i payed the d**n 1000$ because i had no choice, i could not and would not let this affect my credit. I still have no clue what the 1000$ was for!!!!!  I am still pissed to this day about that school. it is a rip off and a crock of s**t. I would not recommend this school to my worst enemies... Save your self the money and your sanity and avoid this school at all cost!!!!!

We Are Sorry to Hear About Your NWC Experience

Dear Lauren,

We are dismayed to hear about your experience with North-West College (NWC)! Our Vocational Nurse program has helped thousands of students enter a fulfilling career in the health care field. And all of our Team Members, from the staff in admissions and financial aid to our instructors in our classrooms, really do have our students' best interests at heart. In fact, every day, they work hard to ensure our students have the support they need, walking alongside them through each step of their program.

As part of the admissions process, we do require students to undergo an entrance evaluation. Once they pass this examination, we refer them to our financial aid department, where every student meets with a financial aid representative. During this meeting, students receive an estimate of the financial aid they are eligible to receive, along with an estimate of the tuition and fees they will owe as they complete the program. Based on these estimates, students are also required to make a down payment toward their tuition and fees prior to entering their program.

Next, every Vocational Nursing student is enrolled in a prerequisite course, called Seminars for Success. This five-week class helps prepare students for the coursework ahead and gives them every opportunity to succeed in their studies at NWC. Prior to beginning the course, each student must sign our Vocational Nursing Guidelines, which explain that Seminars for Success is a competitive course, with the only the top 30 students eligible to advance into the nursing program. Should students fail to place in the top 30 of their class, they are more than welcome to re-take Seminars for Success to try to score higher in the course.

We are so sorry to hear about the communication challenges you encountered when trying to reach out to North-West College. We are not sure how these repeated calls could have fallen through because every one of our Team Members is committed to returning students' calls in a timely manner. However, we understand how frustrating this situation must have been for you and we want to offer any assistance we can. Please reach out to our Corporate Director of Academic Operations, Brooke Allen, at (626) 251-1078 so that we can review your situation and better address your concerns.

Sincerely,

Beylor Meza
