I can't believe that there are only two other reports about this company! I went there several years ago... and I still haven't recovered financially. These guys are the worst kind of bottom feeding scum you can imagine. Just look at where they are located..... right in the heart of one of the most economically depressed cities in the country! They are looking for people who are out of work and desperate, because desperate people will do desperate things, and they will use poor judgement. Like the other guy said.... they will have you lie, make up names and SSN's, do anything it takes to get you the "credit approval" to go to their school.And of course, they promise you employment with one of many companies who will pay back the majority of your school costs...as long as you stay with them for a long period of time. But won't they don't tell you, is that the average amount of time that a new driver spends with one of these companies is about three months. Why three months? Because that's about all that the human body can endure without adequate food and water, and because you spend the few pennies that you make on just enough food to keep from starving. ( no kidding, the company that i went to work for paid me so little that I was living off of those little packages of peanut butter cookies that you find on the bottom shelf at the gas station. ) They promise you $350 / wk during your "training" phase, and they run you ragged. But as soon as you start driving on your own, when you can make some money, the miles mysteriously dry up. Then you find yourself sitting in some godforsaken hell hole waiting for days for a load, many times with no shower, food supplies, or even a toilet. ( one place i sat for 4 days, all they had was an outhouse that they never cleaned ) But I digress.... The school itself is a joke. You could just as easily go get a book on truck driving rules, and if you can find a friend that has a truck and that is willing to work with you.... you could learn everything that they teach you on your own. So what do you get for your $4000, or $6000, or $10,000 dollars ( depending on how desperate you are ) ? You get some goofball who likes to come in and tell you amusing anecdotes about his glory days of trucking, you get a bitchy secretary who is supposed to be your liaison with all of these trucking companies, but who is always to busy to talk to you. ( I think I talked to her personally one time, and she gave me a list of companies that she thought might hire me, but I had to do all of the leg work myself. ) Seriously.... you can accomplish 10 times what she does.... just look on line. So bottom line... no matter how desperate you are.... do not go to one of these truck driving schools! There are better ways! They all work hand in hand with these "training companies", and they are all in it for themselves! They are simply trying to take advantage of you, and when you discover what these companies really are, and you have to quit anyway, you will still be stuck with the bill. DON'T BELIEVE THEIR LIES!!!!!!

I graduated from nuway in 2007. Sure the training was a little expensive but i did get a job. The company i started with paid for my training. Decided that company wasnt f or meant for me so i went back to nuway and they found me another company. I have been with this co mpany for 5 years now and couldnt be happier. Like with any type of job you have to pay your dues and suck it up. Now i am home with my family every night and make close to 70000 a year. Nuway opens the door but you have to have the balls to walk through it

I got my CDL on Dec 5th 2008 after 17 days of training at Nu Way. Werner agreed to hire me but backed out 2 days before I was supposed to leave. I went to see Marty, the job placement liaison, he called KLLM while I was in his office and secured me a job with them. Was the training hard? You bet. 6 weeks with another guy in a space the size of a bathroom is going to be hard. But guess what? THAT'S WHAT TRUCK DRIVING IS! I toughed it out and completed KLLM's training program and went on to work for them until Sep 2010. They paid $5000 of my $6000 fee for Nu Way's training program. I never sat waiting for loads. Why you ask? Because KLLM is a good company to work for.
I can't believe all the bad press I see about Nu Way. They promise to get you your CDL and get you a job and that is exactly what they did, and I can tell you I am d**n glad I went there and not somewhere else which would have taken me 2 or 3 months or longer to get my license. If you can't handle the truck driving industry then blame yourself, not the school that taught you. It's not for everyone. For me it was a life saver, I love driving and I am going to purchase a truck here soon and become my own boss.
Like I said, it's not for everyone, but if you have the strength, determination, and will to live on the road, it can be very rewarding.
The photo I attached is a delivery I made in Chicago. This is one of the hardest places I have ever had to back in to. I used what I was taught at Nu Way to back into this dock. Their unrelenting, sometimes annoying practice of making you repeatedly practice 90 degree ally docking SAVED MY a*s when I made this delivery. I never would have know how to do this without Nu Way and my awesome instructor Dave, an ex Marine Drill Sergeant that knows his stuff.

Palerider is 100% correct in the above complaint and is actually being nice considering what Nu way has done to thousands of honest hardworking people that were affected by the economy and needed help. Nu Way glamorizes the trucking industry and is in business with some of those companies to bring them cheap labor. I'm just amazed that this racket has been allowed to continue as long as it has. I see that once nu way has gotten thier money they have no use for you, even though they promise lifetime job placement assistance. Some of the trucking companies they do business with are just as shady. Once you are hired and finish training with a company, they too want nothing to do with you. The reasons are simple, they are paid $6000 per student driver by the government and once your training is done you begin to cost them money. The bottom line is that you will be paid very little, work long hours, be treated like you're less than a person and all while you're living in a truck far away from home. There is no other industry in this country that is allowed to treat people like this, it's a crime and should be prosecuted accordingly.
