My husband & I have been owners since 96. We would travel there every other year and enjoyed it. The last time we went there was 2008 and enjoyed it. We went there this last year and arrived at 11pm. The office had no unit for us and showed we were no longer owners of our 2 bedroom unit. We brought company with us for the first time and they didn't show reseverations for them either - we had our confirmation fortunately.
They refused at first to give us a 2 bedroom and gave us a 1 bedroom. The bedsheets were dirty, towels on the floor and food in the freezer and it smelled of smoke. The office gave us a second unit, I entered and someone was staying there. I complained to the office, by this time, it's 3 am and we brought three children with us and had no place to stay. Out of no where, they come up with 2 - 2 bedrooms and gave us a weeks worth of complimentary breakfast tickets. I took pictures of the unit we stayed in.
There were needles left in the medicine cabinet, the safe in the closet was partially torn off. Both sinks were rusted, the blinds were broke, the outlet plate was missing. The company we brought, the handle to the refrigerator was duck taped. The screen on dining room window was taped up. The floors in the bathroom were rotting away. As we walked around the buildings there were holes in the exterior walls.
We were told by new management that whoever the last company to own went bankrupt and had no reserves. We told the new management we wanted out and they told us it would cost $2700 to remove the deed from our name. We refused to pay the fee, so we need to find another way out, so we don't waste anymore money on maintenance fees that go up each year.
